    Pros

Very relaxed environment, restaurant was exceptionally clean, and I made really good money.

    Cons

You have to start off being a host for a while before you start to serve, but it's very brief.

    Pros

Lots of fun, great work environment, meal discounts. You have a lot of flexibility and you can work on your own schedule. Great fit for people who are in college and want to work part-time.

    Cons

The paycheck is a joke. Hosts should really be paid minimum wage instead of $4 something an hour. The shifts are really long and your managers expect you to seat and greet guests, keep everything clean, buss and set all the tables, check the bathroom every 5 minutes and sometimes deliver food to tables.

    Advice to Management

A busser should be on every shift to help out the hosts and servers. Learn when to cut servers and don't have 5 hosts on a shift every Friday night...

    Pros

50% meal discount, Good hours, Better than fast food, SOME friendly workers! Good job experience, start there and move up! Hot schedules! Awesome!! Flexible with your personal life!

    Cons

A lot of work, Hostessing, Bussing Tables, Greeting Guest, Seating Guest all at once. The servers should try to clear the stuff off of their tables so you can wipe them down and reset them but most don't! They think since you're a hostess they can walk over you. We're important too.

    Advice to Management

Good management ! it would be nice if the pay was a little higher as well, my friend is a hostess at a different restaurant and she said the minimum pay in Fl for a hostess is 5.05$ , and I get 4.99.... Hmm.. Oh well! I do though love how the managers are flexible with your life outside of work!

    Pros

Quick money before the mall expanded; good people to work with; ability for advancement; offer benefits to part-time employees

    Cons

Inconsistency with money and management. Not everyone took pride in their job.

    Advice to Management

Hold everyone to the same standards. Accountability is key. Hard working employees get very frustrated when you let the slackers get away with everything.

    Pros

Ruby's has really made an effort over the past few years to trim the fat in their management positions, bringing in quality team members from outside of the restaurant.

    Cons

Like most restaurants, quality of life may vary greatly depending on location. This is the result of both inside and extrinsic factors. Mainly, general manager and clientele base.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. Many managers are able to balance hard work and keeping up a fun, thriving work place.
