I have been working at Rue La La full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Having worked at companies in a variety of industries, I can confidently say that Rue La La values and cares about its employees at a far higher level than anywhere else I have worked. It is challenging to maintain such a engaging, high-touch culture during periods of growth, but Rue is rising to that challenge. Working here, I feel you get get benefits of working at an established company, while still being lean & small enough to make changes that matter, even if you are in a junior-level role.

    Cons

Rue is positioned in a uniquely fast-paced, ever-changing industry, which requires a high level of openness to change. If you are able to adapt to shifts in the way things operate along with some growing pans, you'll be able to succeed while learning more in the process. If you raise your hand when you see something you'd like to change, you can make an impact.

I have been working at Rue La La as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Everyone, including the exec team, are very nice and welcoming. I am only one a 3.5 month contract and I have heard from others that contracted people can sometimes become full-time. Its a young company and its really cool to see it grow and feel like I am part of something bigger. Also people are very helpful and are very willing to answer questions.
There are a lot of people that are contracted that I have met, and/or, heard about.

Additional pros of being contract/ working at Rue:
Really get to test out the company and makes you want to work extra hard
Get to participate in sample sales
    Bagel Fridays
If you are contract in a position you aren't crazy about, it is easy to ask about other departments
Telling people I work at Rue

    Cons

It may be due to my position, but I don,t really have any cons. The pay is decent, there is no discount for contract, and, once again this could be due to my position, it is difficult to get more work and tasks..

I have been working at Rue La La full-time

Everyone works together very well and the teams partner together to get the work done. The business is exciting and it is still growing. There is a lot of opportunity to learn and to contribute to the business.

    Cons

You have to be ready for a fast-paced environment. Given the nature of the business there are a lot of changes in order to continue to succeed in the industry.

I have been working at Rue La La full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

There is a lot that is great here:
--a fun environment (people eat together in the cafeteria, happy hours on Thursday)
--good work-life balance (people work reasonable hours)
    --great leadership at the C-level
--interesting problems to solve technically and within the business
    --strong revenue growth

    Cons

A lot has changed at Rue in the last couple of years. There was a lot of turnover but it has mostly brought new energy to the company. But it is still a complicated org structure.

I have been working at Rue La La full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

It's difficult to find a job that you love coming to everyday but that is what I found at Rue La La. The office is environment is innovative and collaborative with the feeling that everyone is working towards the same goal, which is to see the company succeed. Great coworkers and a supportive environment for taking risks and trying new things. The office itself is in a great location. Work schedule is flexible (i.e. ability to work from home, free to manage your own time as long as the work is getting done) which allows for a work-life balance. The company offers a variety of great perks like Sample Sales, employee discounts, Thirsty Thursday events and Bagel Fridays. Frequently the company gives back to employees by offering special events (Pretzel Sunday Bars, free lunches). Company offers training and development programs throughout the year. Aside from the perks, the best part of my job is feeling like I am making a difference with the work I am doing and knowing that I have a future with the company.

    Cons

Extremely fast paced environment (I happen to like that type of environment, but not for everyone). The company is always changing so there is definitely a need to keep an open mind and remain flexible. The fourth quarter is always an intense time of year, so extra hours are usually the norm.

I have been working at Rue La La full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

I interned at Rue La La the summer going into my senior year of college. I absolutely fell in love with the company for its culture, energy, and purpose. I was surrounded by brilliant people with passion and I wanted nothing more to be a part of it. Once my internship had ended, I knew Rue was the place for me and as soon as I graduated I jumped onto an opportunity within the event production department. I work with such talented people who are willing to help constantly; for a graduate, what more could you ask for?

    Cons

Very fast paced...everyone has their good days and bad days. The ability of adapting to change certainly keeps you on your toes!
