    Pros

Easy to get hired. Work is relatively easy, Low to moderate supervision. Get paid every week. Overtime gets offered on a regular basis.

    Cons

Management appears to have no desire to enhance human interactions with the employees. Disorganization and constantly changing work duties on a regular makes it hard to function properly, Very structured.

    Advice to Management

Solicit advice and be supportive to all of your employees. Keep the necessary supplies available to employees to perform our work effectively, something that is currently not being done. Ask what can I do to make your job run more efficiently.

    Pros

Fast paced environment. Great team to work with. Received upper management supoort more often than not. Encouraged self improvement, tuition reimbursement program.

    Cons

overworked, understaffed, reduction in lateral support members increased workload.

    Advice to Management

Focus a bit more on profitablility rather than allow customers to be the tail that wags the dog, impacting the district's P&L. Find a way to reduce the ancillary work load that has nothing to do with running a fleet maintenance organization.

    Pros

Local work. Able to provide equipment when needed. Safety bonuses.

    Cons

Too many to list for my location but it depends on the location. Contract has forced me to have the same pay for 4 years. More responsibility and same pay.

    Advice to Management

Shops do not do what DVCRs ask them to do. My poor justdgement, but out of necessity I have driven my Truck at times when I shouldnt have because the load had to get o the customer. The shops do not do thier jobs half the time because they are too busy or too lazy and UNION so I havent figured that one out yet, Im getting another job ASAP.

    Pros

Excellent co-workers. Good resources: computers, software, subject experts. Pay and benefits were good. They were very understanding when I had to deal with illness or deaths in the family.

    Cons

Management did not do a good job of managing customer's expectations. If the customer wanted any new project, it was assigned to the team, without additional resources. Some of the best team members left for other companies for better pay and a reasonable work-load.

    Advice to Management

Consider your worker's time as a precious and limited resource. Keep the customer's expectations at a level that the team can achieve. "Under-promise and Over-deliver".

  9. Overall I would say, overworked and under paid.

    Pros

Decent work-life balance, good hours, benefits are ok, managers can be understanding

    Cons

Under paid, compared to all other logistics companies, Ryder seems to pay way less. Growth within the company can be at a stand still and when setting a what seemed like completely realistic goal, HR stated it was too aggressive.

    Advice to Management

Recognize your employees and promote them fairly and timely. Help them advance to the next salary level if they are stuck.

    Pros

Good benefits, stability, adequate pay, ability to relocate. Some truly good people out there (that are often tarnished by the overwhelming number of bad)

    Cons

Terrible middle management that seems stuck in the 80s. Older management staff that seems threatened by the younger generation. Lower salaries than industry standard. Not enough support personell. Every task or challenge is a trade off. If you want to excel at something then something else will fall to the wayside.

    Advice to Management

Train and teach rather than be threatened by younger management team. Be more positive. A lot of negativity on a day to day basis. Why have 6 conference calls in one day just to talk about more conference calls?
