Fast paced and quick turn around

    Designer (Former Employee)
    La Jolla, CA

ProsAmazing Team and very talented designers. The subject of the work was exciting and i always felt like i was contributing to improving our nation

ConsFar to many levels of upper management that keep cutting the worker force and adding more levels of management and new processes. A new CEO every couple years means lots of changes and always wondering what tomorrow would bring.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your team - they do the job day in and day out and understand the core processes for success more than a new upper manager that has just been handed a new fancy title.

    Okay place to work!

    Technical Analyst (Former Employee)
    Quantico, VA

ProsI had great, hard-working co-workers. Everyone was very willing to work as a team.

ConsThere was no cohesiveness between SAIC, and the subcontractor, so it was a little hard to get tasks completed.

Overall good company to work for but the Gov cuts are starting to make a negative impact.

    Associate Buyer (Current Employee)
    Fairfield, NJ

    ProsOpportunity for career advancement .

ConsThe company is being affected by the government 'slim-down'; therefore is trying to get slimmer as well cutting overheads costs including employees benefits.

Advice to Senior ManagementSecuring contracts is great for job stability but you can't neglect your valuable employees that expect much more than that.

A good start for me, but looking for more career growth.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Orlando, FL

ProsGreat location in Orlando (IT organization). On site gym. Relaxed environment. Plenty of employee organizations for personal and professional development.

ConsThey tend to low ball you. Not the easiest place for most to advance. Pay is not as competitive as some other companies in the area.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlace more emphasis on employee growth and career development.

Frustrating, I thought I would receive more direction and coaching during this internship, but I received little to none

Remember 3 things to climb the ladder at SAIC (Retired, Military, Officer)

    Intelligence Analyst (Current Employee)

ProsI work with a great team, all retired military.

ConsUpper management, not will to share in pay cuts like the team members.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement does not make money for the company the workers make you money, don't forget that.

Was a great company to work for until Dr. Beyster retired. It has been in a continuous state of decline ever since.

    Senior Financial Analyst (Former Employee)
    San Diego, CA

ProsOpportunities to grow in your field of expertise. Ability to bounce new ideas off people in the field.

ConsManagers lack communication skills which they blame on subordinates. There is no such thing as life/work balance. You are expected to give it all to the breaking point which is then conveniently forgotten during performance reviews. Employees at the Corporate level are very cliquish.

Advice to Senior ManagementCome up with a solid business plan and stick with it. Continuous reorganization due to unfocused views cause instability and heartache.
