I have been working at SAIC full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

SAIC values their employees and the contributions they bring to the organization as a whole.
Everyone has a voice, which is a pleasant change from other companies where I have worked. They also do a great job with work-life balance, including telecommuting options for many.

    Cons

The company is "one year new", following the split with Leidos. Fortunately, many of the old values still remain. Working through some resource constraints.

I have been working at SAIC full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Flexible with time-off and work schedules as long as you get the required time in per week and are following policy. They also support education, training, and certification. There is compensation for certifications as long as they are pre-approved.

    Cons

Not the best benefits package. Premiums are at an all time high. Also, teams are now broken out into different service lines. And I've only talked to my task manager via email as they sit in a different location.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More communications from service lines down to the lowest level.

I worked at SAIC full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very ethical company and I was compensated very well. I enjoyed the work, my peers and supervisors. Even as an MBA, SAIC put me through various training courses.

    Cons

I was a sub another contractor, which caused frequent stability issues. SAIC took care of me, but I did not see any long term opportunities unless I was willing to relocate. Another opportunity came along before the discussion really moved to that level.

I worked at SAIC full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of upward mobility, respected my supervisors and executive leadership team, was happy to come to work, I worked there 5 years and it was a great experience.

    Cons

Worked mainly on government contracts and they come and go so job security was sometimes iffy

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would more fully develop the mentorship program. I had mentors within the company (unorganized) and their advice was very helpful in my career path.

I worked at SAIC full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, great pay and people care about each other.

    Cons

This company should give more assistance to people that are losing coverage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try harder to retain loyal employees by forming a group of people to assist employees that lose coverage to find another position with the company.

I have been working at SAIC full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good pay. The company encourages you to continue with training and school. They stay out of your way and let you do your job. Good benefits and 401K match. No complaints with them at all.

    Cons

Your at the mercy of the contract. The company is going to do everything they can to keep the contract and keep you there as it's good for them and you. But if the company that's contracting wants a change there's not much they can do about. If you're lucky you can catch on with the new company that takes over the contract.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management does everything they need to do to keep things running smoothly. SAIC is first class.
