Current Employee – been working at SCANA

Pros – Close to where I live, Benefits are nice, People are friendly, Campus is amazing, lots of people who know what they are talking about. Just as many who don't though.

Cons – Low pay for position, hard to advance, generally speaking people aren't motivated to get things done, hard to get things done in a timely manner.

Advice to Senior Management – Why is change so slow there, should be easier to make changes.

Cons – There is a good old boy enviroment

Advice to Senior Management – Take a look at your turnover

Pros – Steady employment with low layoff rate

Cons – No real opportunities to advance your position, salary or earn additional bonuses/raises based on performances. Bonuses and merit raises are uniform throughout company.

Advice to Senior Management – Update market value and spend money to get and keep talented engineering and nuclear professionals, or this company will soon be lacking any young talent due to the much higher pay offered by nearby utilities. Also, tie raises and bonuses to performance and give managers more latitude in deciding the value of personnel, or the drive/will to perform plummets, along with employee morale.

Cons – Aging workforce. Nowhere to move in the company.
