    Pros

The technical (IT) staff are fun to work with and very good at their jobs.

    Cons

SCC do not value people..that is self evident with their 50% + annual churn rate (yes, believe it!). The working conditions are positively victorian (old, broken loos, smelly stale air, no light, ); all office furniture is old and broken, it is cramped and the IT equipment is a total joke. They do things on the cheap here; they pay the going rate, but the rest is just a short cut to profit and its the employees who suffer. I have heard numerous complaints about the way people are messed about by HR and management, its a shambles as they cannot retain staff. This company deserves to go to the wall. No flexibility at work here either, so if you have young kids, watch out. There's no WFH and they will squeeze overtime out of you and then you will struggle to get paid for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

What can I say; you have it so badly wrong. Get an independent assessment of the working conditions for staff and when they give it the title '3rd world sweatshop' then maybe its time to take note.

A sales driven organisation that doesn't like to pay sales men

    Pros

Great people at branch level who are all driven and self-motivated! They need to be with the ridiculously weak Branch management

    Cons

Filled with "Yes men" at middle management level, senior level is insular and incestuous. A handful of salesman are given deals and then lauded as heroes, the remainder have commission with-held and have to be VERY grateful when they do get paid! The "teacher's pet" mentality means there are a few mediocre kiss-ass individuals that are awarded and promoted, the rest slog their guts out until they are driven to leave!

    Pros

Company with a supposed global influence, some good people. Potential benefits from working with different vendors and establishing relationships.

    Cons

Employees treated with contempt, no benefits, no payrises and no reward for good performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your staff with a bit more respect and realise how valuable they are to you.

    Pros

Sales teams appear to get reasonable levels of support and back up. Trainee scheme set up to take on younger trainee Hardware Break Fix engineers.

    Cons

Senior Management in Managed Services dept focused totally on KPIs with little interest in Customer satisfaction. Company is very American in its approach to its work force higher / fire at will. Little / no opportunity for progression with in Managed Services

    Pros

Large organisation. Some good Middle management

    Cons

Most good Middle managers have been poached by vendors or other resellers so we are left with a disorganised company. Staff are not happy and many are looking at leaving. Poor development and there are not clear routes for promotion. Basic salaries are low and commission is often wrong.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value the good staff and look at why so many people are leaving.

    Current Employee - Field Engineer

    Pros

You get to meet some really nice people both as customers and as fellow co workers, being left to get on with the job as you see fit.

    Cons

Zero support from senior managers, zero incentive to work harder and advance your own career, zero pay rises or bonus schemes, zero overtime opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look up from your desk every now and again or better still, get out from behind your desk and get out on the sharp end once in a while.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in City of London, England (UK)

    Pros

    Decent benefits
Good people at mid-to lower levels
    Good sales force

    Cons

    Severe downsizing
    Little personal recognition
Upper management appear to be little interested in personal improvement
Training not available, except for specific customer systems
Company culture does not recognise praise as a motivator

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to think long-term, and integrate inter-departmental planning. Promises made to customers must be kept - a company's reputation is gold. Management training in ITIL should be widespread, if processes are to be followed. Praise is a good motivator, sometimes more than money.
