SRA was a good place to work.

Senior Member of the Professional Staff (Former Employee) Fairfax, VA

ProsSRA purchased the company where I worked prior to 2002. They did a great job of integrating us into the company after the purchase. I appreciated their values of honesty and excellent customer service. SRA had great benefits, training opportunities, and pay. I worked at the client's site and thoroughly enjoyed it. My managers kept me informed about what was happening at SRA and let me work fairly independently.

ConsPrior to the economic downturn, SRA worked hard to keep good employees when a contract ended. This was no longer the case in 2013.

a great place to get placed on a project, but not to make a career

Technical Director III (Current Employee) Fairfax, VA

ProsHighly ethical management with solid reputation (historically) and generally a very healthy respect for work/life balance; career advancement for individuals getting involved at tough projects and customer sites; will not burn bridges with customers and partners, and seemingly has an open door policy where anyone can leave and go to any competitor at any time.

ConsOver-emphasis on projects vs domain areas, making it tough to recruit and retain top talent; many long time veterans there are either leaving because it has changed, or should have been fired but cling as a result of politics.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlace a greater emphasis on career paths and internal mobility.

SRA is a nice place to work.

Test Engineer (Current Employee) Fairfax, VA

ProsI like interacting and working with other employees within SRA. They offer good training and tuition reimbursement opportunities. The ability to telecommute when needed is nice.

ConsI do not like that the cost of benefits keep increasing each year. I feel that some of my significant accomplishments are overlooked. The review process does not work perfectly.
