    I worked at SS&C full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

good way to gain experience, good benefits

    Cons

High turnover, no training or bad training, management is doing too much production work and not enough time to effectively management, always putting out fires, outdated technology, pay sucks, if you are good at your job you get rewarded with more work while the slackers just slack and get paid as much if not more than you do and management will not fire them, understaffed.....there is more but too much to list.

    Advice to Management

    Too much to list

    I have been working at SS&C full-time

    Pros

Good place to start employment especially in the fund accounting business. SS&C is big in fund admin and is getting bigger especially with them acquiring Advent.

    Cons

Upside is too small and upper management doesn't care much about the work force which drives the business home. Promote from within rather than bringing in from other places who have a bigger learning curve.

    Advice to Management

Look into my pros and cons comments, its the majority view of the workforce.

    Pros

Decent pay Flexible with personal schedule Nice fellow employees and managers

    Cons

Departments are very much individual silos Training is unorganized Understaffed

    Advice to Management

Invest in your current employees, fix problems, don't just patch them up for someone else to deal with

    I have been working at SS&C full-time

    Pros

Fairly laid back atmosphere. Friendly employees and reasonable hours. 830-630. Very good time off/ benefits package- stock options, 401k match, medical, dental, vision.

    Cons

Lack of communication from management. No training- more of a learn on your own. Broken product being pushed on clients that results in client dissatisfaction and more work for dev/product/support. No overall company community and Once the clock strikes 5/6pm everyone runs for the exit.

    Advice to Management

Foster a community. Communicate with employees. Listen

I have been working at SS&C as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great experience given other limited opportunities in the local tri-state area. Great work-life balance unless you get stuck with a T-0 fund, otherwise great.

    Cons

With the world becoming more interconnect the need to move for positions does not exists. To move outside of the Evansville to a larger or more specialized location will be difficult. There needs to be more ways to advance up.

    Advice to Management

Actually pay your employees what they are worth and not what you can get by paying them. Since there is no competition in local area you can and have paid one of the lowest in Industry as there are no competitors. Use Robert-Half as an example of what you should be paying.
