    Take Initiative: Be Rewarded

Associate (Current Employee) New York, NY

ProsDestiny is in your own hands. If you want to work 9-5, just do your job, and contribute minimally, you can find a place in the company that rewards you little. However if you take initiative, understand the vision of the company, the benefits are endless. It is a meritocracy. Employees are rewarded for taking initiative. The company understands the position it is in: about to become the largest fund administrator globally. It has reinvested in its people and technology to achieve this.

ConsHours are long, but manageable. Not everyone is a genius, but not everyone can be.

Advice to Senior ManagementReward those who take initiative.

    Good company with minor issues

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Boston, MA

ProsCompany is growing and financially strong, which provides interesting career opportunities. Management runs a tight and efficient organization. Everyone is busy and mostly productive, management sets aggressive but achievable goals and the culture is very direct and holds employees accountable. Top employees seem to be rewarded well and most can do well with reasonable effort. Pay is good for the effort required.

Despite older reviews, turnover seems industry standard. I don't see office politics. Perhaps this varies by office/division.

ConsOffices are drab. Could provide more formal career training. Management could provide more transparency on bonuses and compensation. Would be good to have more formal career mentoring and performance review processes. Benefits are industry standard, could do better. No fun perks like other tech companies.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep investing in products, provide more transparency into corporate processes and more structure in terms of compensation and talent management. Continue growing and be sure to share the rewards with employees who are contributing.

A company that invests its self in its employees

    Devolopmental Specialist (Current Employee)

ProsThe fact that SS&C will invest in their employees makes this one of the best places to work.

They take the time to encourage new thoughts and ideas

The ability to balance work and home is the best. I have the ability to have a very flexible work schedule in order to better myself with Grad school.

Upper level management is always there to lend a ear for when some issue may arise.

Being able to work collectively as a group to bounce ideas off of coworkers.

ConsThe work is hard and demanding. But what job isn't hard or demanding? The hard work pays off in the end with the recognition, advancement and compensation.

Advice to Senior ManagementMore group outings to bring teams closer together.
