    Pros

    Loved my day to day job, loved my coworkers, and loved my clients. Loved the relaxed atmosphere

    Cons

    Very low pay for the hours and level of work required. Nowhere to move up within the company (in the US division) unless you wanted to work in Dallas (boo!) Very low commission payout compared to revenue earned.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Focus more on your employee retention through created a positive environment, and I bet you see your overall revenue increase for the US division.

    I have been working at STA Travel full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    You can wear jeans to work, people are nice, and you get to learn about the travel industry.

    Cons

    The wages are low for the amount of work, stress, and frustration that comes with the job. There seems to be a high turnover rate which leads management to constantly look for new hires because there isnt enough staff to manage the amount of work.Most of the management is disorganized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Try to work on retaining current employees, raise the hourly wage to match the demands of the job, train the supervisors to treat the employees better, implement a suggestions box, and hire more people so I that the work is more manageable.

    Global Company, able to be creative and explore new ideas.

    Unorganized, zero to no travel perks even though it is a travel agency.

    Pros

    Laid back culture (you can wear jeans if that's what is important to you)

    Cons

    Terminally ill business that will not adapt to save itself. This is exacerbated by new management that is completely out of touch with the business. Management's inability to communicate any type of vision or strategy for the future has everyone nervous and insecure about the future of the company. As a result, all the smart/talented employees have left causing a complete talent drain. I'm sure they could hire more people, but anyone worth having would not want to work in this completely dysfunctional environment. Everyone is packing their parachutes and leaving as quickly as they can. I hope I'm not the one left to turn out the lights when this meets its natural end.

    Overal Positive Brand Ambassador Experience

    I have been working at STA Travel as an intern for more than a year

    Pros

    You're given a lot of range with what you can do with this internship.
    It can either be a lot of nothing (posters, flyers around your campus) or something more exciting.
    The other Brand Ambassador and I would come up with more marketing ideas and put them in action.
     I was able to use the computer booking sytem and act as a Travel Expert when one of the staff had been out for quite some time
    Perks: travel vouchers at the end of the semester! I held this position the maximum 2 semesters in a row.

    Cons

    Not a lot of guidance
    I wish this internship had more structure! This x10.

    If you're going to have a Brand Ambassador internship-type program, keep it structured and maintained better.

    You have to enjoy chasing targets.

    Cons

    Targets to hit bonus. But that is the norm in sales Very easy company to talk to all levels of people even at the top.
    Tend to listen and have good rationales

    The confusion between store managers and product managers etc. Communication needed
