    I have been working at SUPERVALU full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    The location is great - right along the Boise River and quick access to the Greenbelt. It's also really close to downtown Boise. The work is challenging and provides a continually opportunity to learn new things.

    Cons

    The pay does not seem to be competitive with years of expereience and other corporate offices in the area. The continual discussion of head count and benefit reduction is unmotivating and tiring.

    Please start treating your employees like assets that deserve the best.

    The IT department is at throws with itself. Policies being indoctrinated are to the point of harassment. Being and outstanding team member for over the past 7 years, the IT Support has gone from FANTASTIC on every level of work to dreading each and every shift. I was harassed for using the facility for 15 minutes, by someone I have known for years, and Finally said if you cannot trust your own employees, then whats the point. And fire me......Everyone is treated this way. I am a casualty to the policy and the power struggle of the managers. In the last 8 months IT has lost over 100 years of knowledge. Ask anyone I worked with and they know they lost one of the best.

    Safe environment. Ability to easily move from one department to another to increase your overall knowledge.

    Cons

    Leadership is stuck in the past. They are still trying to get back to what SUPERVALU was before they bought ALBERTSONS. Meanwhile, the world has moved forward.

    Get rid of VP's that are stuck in the past and only look out for their and their friend's jobs.

    Pros

    Supervalu has historically had a lot of great people working for it. It has also been a company that allows a decent work-life balance.

    Cons

    Supervalu has been in a state of turmoil for the last eight years due to the after affects of the Albertson's acquisition. This has resulted in job cuts, pay freezes, loss of bonuses and no 401K match. They seem to be turning things around but it will likely be a while before they are completely out of the woods.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management should work hard to ensure 401K matches, raises and bonuses continue to be healthy.

    Great coworkers and middle management, Workload gives vast experience, Minneapolis metro area offers corporate, supply chain and retail career opportunities

    No work life balance, continue to re-org and downsize to squeeze more out of employees for less, expect top level performance for minimal pay
