Current Employee – been working at SYKES full-time for more than a year
Pros – Good people; great location(s); great presence in the community; great services to customers; great benefits.
Cons – If Sykes had a necromancer on their payroll, they would have no problem working you to death, reviving you and then working you to death again.
Advice to Senior Management – Focus on work/life balance. Expand your flex commute options.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Cons – Strict, sometimes stupid policies and rules. A lot of childish drama and stuff, but that's probably everywhere.

Former Employee – worked at SYKES full-time for less than a year
Pros – The pay is alright and you never have to work overnights. You get breaks and a lunch and the job is easy.
Cons – If you go one minute over on a break you get wrote up. If you miss a day and don't make it up that same week you get another write up.

Current Employee – been working at SYKES full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – You get at least 40 hours a week.
Cons – Seniority doesn't count when being looked at for other positions within the site. At this particular site some one from outside the site could be hired in a higher position that you put in for.
Advice to Senior Management – To work closer with the team members they have and listen to what they have to say the representatives on the phones are the ones who knows what is going to be better for them.

Current Employee – been working at SYKES full-time for less than a year
Pros – Friendly staff. Reasonable hours of operation.
Cons – Not enough lunch time allocated for each representative. Unreasonable in reference to employee's needs to take off for a doctor's appt. or a sick child.
Advice to Senior Management – Human resources department should pay more and hire responsible adults for better quality in the work force, maybe then they can treat each individual better. Offer necessary time off for Doctor visits, and at least 45 min. for lunch.

Former Employee – worked at SYKES
Pros – My supervisor was terrific!! Loved my co-workers. Benefits.
Cons – Paid-time off. Considerations for urgent situations. When the company makes a change the senior management of the site is not very understanding towards the employees that have been working for the company since it first opened. The upper management will not work with you even if you have been a loyal employee with perfect attendance over two years! The upper management speaking of the ones that actually run the site are not compatonate what so ever.
Advice to Senior Management – If you expect a company to survive and to thrive successfully you have to treat your employees the same way that you expect them to treat you and the customers that they serve. Don't forget that the employees are the biggest part of a company and without us you wouldn't have a job!!! Also you are right there is someone else that will be there to take the place of one that no longer has their position but if you fire everyone (because the turnover rate is high) there will be no one else to hire.

Current Employee – been working at SYKES
Pros – When you first apply they give you the motivational speech concerning opportunity for promotions, but that is only half the story. Politics is a huge impact on promotion potential. Play the game, get the promotion.
Cons – Unqualified supervisors. Incompetence is rampant here, no respect for management.
Advice to Senior Management – Have real standards for positions of authority. Does education matter?

Current Employee – been working at SYKES as a contractor for more than a year
Pros – great time working in a team of diverse cultural and racial background.
Cons – Biased account managers, unfairly awarding promotions to friends rather than those who are more deserving based on merit.
For 2 years of working, only once was there a meeting with the team and manager. As a result, most employees are unaware of any new updates or changes in policy. As a result the absence of transparency is overwhelming.
Advice to Senior Management – Encourage more manager-support team flow of communication and interaction via implementing standardized weekly or bi-weekly meetings.
For any internal opening or major promotion, a thorough application & interview must be held for candidates instead of arbitrarily awarding the position to a friend without any announcement to other team members.
