    Pros

Alpine is a work at home place which is convenient. They start at 9.50 an hour for pay. The training is long but easy.

    Cons

SYKES/ALPINE ACCESS does not respect those serving in the Armed Forces. This company does not keep an accurate count of PTO used and not used.

    Advice to Management

I wld recommend revising your policy on military members. Countless times, I've been doc'd for pay or my earned UPTO and PTO were used for military duty. It was like they were punishing me.

    Pros

Great people on my team, international environment, some fun activities yearly

    Cons

It is general knowledge some promotions are decided even before they are announced. Skilled people don't stay long in the company. Warnings are banalised, although I consider their repercursions extremely harsh (you can't get promoted, for example)

Although working for the biggest technology company in the world, no tools to give said support (only partial fault on this)

    Advice to Management

Although the salary is decent for Romanian standards, other companies locally pay better for similar roles. There should be mechanisms to ensure the skilled people stay, instead of mediocricy in all levels. Performance Warnings shouldn't restrict you from being promoted

    Pros

I supported a great client and the workforce was diverse.

    Cons

Low pay, very little room for growth, inexperienced management, and an overall negative work environment. Interview process and pay does not provide quality employees, and the efforts needed by management to create quality employees and a positive work environment do not exist. The culture and values that the company supports "on paper" do not translate into the workplace.

    Pros

    - Work from the comfort of your own home - this is really the only perk of the job, and believe me when I say that the company stresses this perk to justify undercutting you from what you would receive if you worked in a brick and mortar center (benefits, paid time off, etc.)

    Cons

    - Team Leaders are almost never available to assist you with issues
    - Benefit package is very weak
    - You have to "earn" paid time off, but even when you want to cash it in, it's a nightmare and many dates are restricted or blacked out.
    - Wage is minimum and raises come at 15 cents per hour for every 3,000 hours worked.
    - The job is extremely mundane and you don't have any days where you do anything other than field back to back calls for hours.
    - Tech issues run rampant on the programs, with little resolution or even an idea of what the problem may be with the Citrix applications.

    Advice to Management

I don't have any advice, rather, a question - why does Sykes stress the importance of their onshore workers and how essential we are to their company, but chooses to outsource their helpdesk to the Philippines?

    Pros

There are some great people who work for Sykes.

    Cons

They pay is not great. They expect everyone above an agent level to do the job of 2-3 people. It seems that the only people who advance beyond a certain level are the ones who bully, manipulate, and lie.

    Advice to Management

People first should apply to all levels, not just agent level. To retain great employees you must pay competitively. Reward those who work hard and make a difference.

    Pros

Great and somewhat flexible schedules. The job itself is easy to perform and the duties are reasonable.

    Cons

Consistency is a big problem, all the competition pays better, and while the employees who have the right friends get to sit at their desks and text their friends on phones we aren't supposed to have and eat food that we're not supposed to have at our desks the rest get micromanaged over the smallest details. 45 minutes down the interstate in Tampa or a bit further the other direction in Lake Mary you can make better money per hour and per sale.

    Advice to Management

You need to be much more consist and maintain more professional relationships with all employees.

    Pros

Facilities are good and relatively new. Some great people to work with. Good place to start for employment. Lots of opportunities in the right circle.

    Cons

So much favortism it's not funny. Poor leadership among senior management. Lacks serious work ethics. Surprised client hasn't pulled account yet. To many double standards when it comes to letting people go.

    Advice to Management

Clean house starting with top management in the site. Place people in the right positions, people that know the position instead of friends or strictly "yes" people.

    Pros

able to work from home, able to meet people from different states.

    Cons

I worked with ATT Chat, and the program ended abruptly and they didnt offer any alternatives, even let a bunch of people go prior to the end date, then turned around and let everyone who was left go out of no where. It was just like, yes we told you this specific date but the program is ending NOW good luck. However for people who worked for them for 17 plus years were offered other programs to join. Just completely unfair. Low pay for the amount of work they want you to do.

    Advice to Management

pay employees more, offer alternatives if programs are ending so people can provide for their family.
