    I worked at SYKES full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    One of the few BPO's to give a health card even on the first day of training. High signing bonus. Hazard pay is very high depending on your proximity from the office. Very quick promotion.

    Cons

    Too much politics. Promotion may be very quick, but the higher ops would stall as much as they can. You may be a trainer for a few months, but your base pay and contract would remain as an agent for quite some time.

    Lots of opportunities for advancement if you are willing to chase them. Performance focused environment that really strives to provide the best opportunity for the agents to excel and develop.

    Cons

    Difficult to get time for personal problems. Sketchy tracking of metrics that are used to evaluate agent performance.

    The people that work there are great most of the time. They really care for each other. Very involved in fund raisers to help cancer, diabetes etc.

    Cons

    Insurance was not that good.

    Pros

    Stable, open and fair processes, clear and documented expectations on business objectives and individual performance, tools for greater accountability steadily put in place.

    Cons

    Senior leaders are very territorial, mentor-mentee relationships sometimes come across as nepotistic. Recent cuts in support group numbers have led to disastrous drop in turn around times for support requests. Where are we going? No one can answer.
