I have been working at SYKES full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You get at least 40 hours a week.

    Cons

Seniority doesn't count when being looked at for other positions within the site. At this particular site some one from outside the site could be hired in a higher position that you put in for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To work closer with the team members they have and listen to what they have to say the representatives on the phones are the ones who knows what is going to be better for them.

I have been working at SYKES full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly staff. Reasonable hours of operation.

    Cons

Not enough lunch time allocated for each representative. Unreasonable in reference to employee's needs to take off for a doctor's appt. or a sick child.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Human resources department should pay more and hire responsible adults for better quality in the work force, maybe then they can treat each individual better. Offer necessary time off for Doctor visits, and at least 45 min. for lunch.

    I worked at SYKES

    Pros

My supervisor was terrific!! Loved my co-workers. Benefits.

    Cons

Paid-time off. Considerations for urgent situations. When the company makes a change the senior management of the site is not very understanding towards the employees that have been working for the company since it first opened. The upper management will not work with you even if you have been a loyal employee with perfect attendance over two years! The upper management speaking of the ones that actually run the site are not compatonate what so ever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you expect a company to survive and to thrive successfully you have to treat your employees the same way that you expect them to treat you and the customers that they serve. Don't forget that the employees are the biggest part of a company and without us you wouldn't have a job!!! Also you are right there is someone else that will be there to take the place of one that no longer has their position but if you fire everyone (because the turnover rate is high) there will be no one else to hire.

I have been working at SYKES

    Pros

When you first apply they give you the motivational speech concerning opportunity for promotions, but that is only half the story. Politics is a huge impact on promotion potential. Play the game, get the promotion.

    Cons

Unqualified supervisors. Incompetence is rampant here, no respect for management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have real standards for positions of authority. Does education matter?

I have been working at SYKES full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    People are extremely friendly.
The Communications department does their best to make the environment as enjoyable as possible with contests, activities and special treats.
Managers understand there must be a work-life balance, and they will help out with any schedule accommodations for study reasons.
Great importance is given to education and personal development through language and Cisco courses, as well as career path options within the company itself.

    Cons

Communication between departments and between managers and employees is lacking. Information is improperly compartmentalized sometimes, which leads to surprises and emergencies.
The company philosophy struggles between aiming for quality or quantity when it comes to the recruiting process.
While the benefit package has been growing, the salary is lagging behind other companies in the same field.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on hiring quality employees than simply mass hiring. This will help slow down attrition rate.

I have been working at SYKES full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Fun! Although that would generally depend on your outlook in life plus the people you surround yourself with. Gives importance to life-work balance by having organizations that cater to different interests like photography, dancing, etc. Has an active CSR program.

    Cons

This is job title specific. Small salary. Although it is the industry pioneer in the Philippines, it is now lagging behind benefits and compensations to its employees compared to hundred other BPOs in the country. No regularization, yearly increase.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus your attention on keeping talents rather than acquiring new ones.

    Pros

You canlearn a lot about a multinational company. (e.g. Feedback, KPIs)
i was surounded by competent people, regarding their job. We could reach fine results.

    Cons

I missed a company culture based on values.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know you do your best in having a functional company. Give a thought on life values. Be aware that every gesture you make comunicates aboult your values.Don not allow gossiping. This are reflected through the employees.

Very though but I think it would help the company a lot: Lead by example.
