Doesn't hold up to it's reputation!

Creative (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at Saatchi & Saatchi full-time for more than a year

ProsSaatchi — has a great name in the industry...

Cons...but the truth — it's old, outdated, and lacks employee culture of any kind.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind upper management that actually wants to engage with their employees and create a sense of community. One good about this company (besides the name) — you get to go home early because no one cares about what you're doing.

Watch out for turnover in field office positions...

Account Supervisor (Former Employee)

I worked at Saatchi & Saatchi full-time for less than a year

Pros- Nationally/globally recognized name in advertising
- Prestigious account list
- Access to all expected industry tools for research, media, etc.
- Pay is fair/in line with what other agencies offer

Cons- Turnover in field offices is high
- Disconnect between offices (NY to LA to field)
- In field offices, overwhelming fear of being terminated with no warning (this happened to myself and at least one other employee with no verbal or written warning concerning job performance)
- Lack of concern for schedules/planning for people in lower ranks

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Poorly Run from the top in Midtown

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Saatchi & Saatchi

ProsGreat, creative people and fun personalities.
Loose work atmosphere.
Casual Fridays.

ConsPoor upper management in corporate office in Midtown.

Very little new business and lots of money spent on trying to get it.

Middle management has no say in anything and gets told what to do by corporate.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop trying to get everybody to like you and start managing like you should.

Toxic sweat shop with antiquated processess

Senior Vice President (Current Employee)
New York, NY

I have been working at Saatchi & Saatchi

ProsI worked with some smartest coolest people in my career

ConsSenior management, AS, Creative Project managment work in cylos with no support to the teams

Advice to Senior ManagementSenior managment needs to check the egos and support the teams that make the day to day happen. The current GM of Saatchi and Saatchi Wellness is a numbers guy who makes it clear as he walks the halls how expendable his people are. The current CCO lacks any kind of backbone to lead her people and they walk all over her

Good stepping stone, but don't stay there longer than 1.5-2 years

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at Saatchi & Saatchi

ProsLaid back attitudes. A lot of allowance for personal life as long as you're not on deadline. Flexible hours.

ConsVery little accountability for work on all levels. Most people just avoid taking any responsibility for work, and management encourages it. People are just making it up as they go along and trying to shift work to someones else or another department. Take initiative at your own risk.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere are too many managers who have been there for 10+ years, are no longer contributing, and are holding the company back. Find out what people's skills are and allow them to move to other departments or pitch in beyond their department role. Restructure executive leadership and hold people accountable for their actions.

it's a chew them up and spit them out kind of world where you work till you drop, then get kicked to the curb.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
New York, NY

I worked at Saatchi & Saatchi

Prosit has an international reputation, great resources, enviable client list, and a revolving door of strong talent. the compensation is very good, but you can lose your soul in the process.

ConsUpper management is only concerned about numbers, like most places, but it's a constant battle between creative and management. Egos are outsized and respect is hard to find.

Potentially good idea but bad execution.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
San Francisco, CA

I worked at Saatchi & Saatchi

ProsYou get to "save the planet" (if you buy into their theory). You also get to work with some passionate people who truly believe in what they're doing.

ConsNo one knows what they're doing. It's total confusion. They're basically making it up as they go along. If you bring up issues with the company, they don't want to hear about solutions - they just want to cover it up and tell you you're wrong.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop berating employees. Take some management training. Hire more people with experience who actually know what they're doing.
