    Lost Heart and Soul

    Principal (Current Employee) Southlake, TX

ProsThe airline industry is a fascinating place to be; exciting and always changing.

ConsSome of the new execs are rigid in their work/life balance policies. Layoffs have started again. Not enough space in the offices, not enough parking. Airline knowledge is not valued like it used to be. Too much focus on marketing and less on product quality.

Advice to Senior ManagementGo back to basics - recognize and reward talent that have stuck with the company through thick and thin and have the airline knowledge.

    Good people, challenging future

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsChallenging and interesting work, competitive pay and many good people striving to deliver a quality product.

ConsInternal communications and coordination are sub-par. Short term make-the-sale priorities generate delivery backlog that continues to grow.

Advice to Senior ManagementSell the products and functionality that the Company has versus selling promises that you will be challenged to meet. Extend the product portfolio where it makes sense for Sabre versus just because a customer has asked for it. Spend more time, effort and investment on more efficient and effective operations.

Unappreciated individuals in rah, rah corporate speak environemnt

Senior Software Engineer (Current Employee) Boca Raton, FL

ProsRemote work doing software development, the type of work I love to do.

ConsSomewhat hostile environment. More interest in beating chests and proving you know something in place of building each other up.

Advice to Senior ManagementI've made less money last year since being acquired by Sabre.

Loved the people, not the senior management.

Senior Project Manager (Current Employee) DFW, TX

ProsGreat culture where true team work is at play between the worker bees.

ConsFrequent shifts in upper management, thus many changes in direction. Numerous reductions in force have taken place over the last 10 years.

Love the company, but new direction is not very clear.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFlexible work from home options. Opportunities for career growth and movement within the company. Casual work environment. Very diverse since it is a global company.

ConsRecent layoffs has everyone on edge as no one knows what to expect. The company direction isn't very clear. The overall company morale is currently low. It was much better in previous years.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more transparent and honest with employees.

    Great Working Atmosphere

Project Manager (Current Employee) Southlake, TX

ProsPeople are friendly and cooperative. You get the resources you need to do your job. It is easy to make cross functional alliances. Benefits seem better than average.

ConsManagement is frequently changing; corporate goals are always changing and unclear at best. Unprofitable business are retained i.e. Travelocity. The have layoffs across the company that make no sense and apparently aren’t well thought out.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet a CEO who knows what he or she is doing.

    Great People

Senior Release Manager (Former Employee) Southlake, TX

ProsThe people at Sabre are all very friendly and close. Many have worked their most of their life. The opportunity to work with people world wide was great and I will miss my team mates. I learned a great deal working globally and with their HP business partners. Because the company is global, there are opportunities to work from home.

ConsSabre is behind the times in technology and there is no consistency when you move from one team to another regarding processes and tools. The downside to working for Sabre is the instability of the company as they attempt to become more technologically modern.

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide actual training to new employees; introduce team members and state their roles so new employees can find the help they need to be productive quickly. Be clear with your expectations and listen to your employees.

Some good and some bad, as with most

Business Analyst (Current Employee) Southlake, TX

ProsLarge company with opportunity to grow and/or change career paths without losing work history. Great campus and has history of great culture.

ConsTechnology company that doesn't believe in using technology - tools are out dated, portfolio management system is ancient, SharePoint is installed but not managed or utilized

Advice to Senior ManagementMoving people around under newly named teams hasn't produced the change you were looking for because the wrong people are being kept in decision making roles.

I have worked here a very long time and the more things change the more they stay the same

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Southlake, TX

ProsDespite, what most would say, is broken company, the people who work here are awesome.

ConsSabre has a way of taking a job that seems like a standard IT job and changing what it should do so much that if you tried to get another job with the same title, you don't have the experience required

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
