    Pros

Great co-workers pay and benefits are OK.

    Cons

If you look up the word micro-management in the dictionary, you will see a Safe Auto Logo. You are treated like a child by bully managers!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of 1/2 your management, and just let your workers do their job in peace, without big brother breathing constantly down your neck.

Some Management has no clue of what they are doing.. HR is shady and covers up for their people if you are in their circle.

Former Employee - Adjuster in Columbus, OH

I worked at Safe Auto full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The benefits package was great, although salary was a bit below the industry average. All of my co-workers were great and we managed to have fun amongst all of the stress. I had four weeks of PTO right off the bat which is unheard of. Benefits also start on the employee's first day.

    Cons

The workload was unbearable. Turnover is high because of the stress and the claims department is consistently short staffed. Stress level is extremely high because of the sensitive nature of insurance claims and the demographic of the target market of Safe Auto. Different areas of the department would implement cost-cutting measures that were inconvenient to the customers, and the adjusters would be the ones to deliver the bad news and take the resulting abuse.

    Pros

Fun environment when the company is doing well; friendly employees; cheap cost-of-living in the area

    Cons

Financially in dire straits; management will throw you under the bus when results go south; limited career opportunities; nepotism in hiring; below-average compensation; meager severance; trouble retaining employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Step aside and let someone else take a shot. You're in over your heads.

    Pros

Good benifits for employees - lots of contest to get the employees engaging with one another.
    nice facility to work in

    Cons

awful communication from upper management to the average worker.
in order to be promoted in the company it seems you have to totally screw up your current position and then you will get promoted out of that position. have seen this 4 times in the last 6 months.

I have been working at Safe Auto

    Pros

The entrepreneurial culture promotes a very flexible workplace with opportunities for career advancement for career-motivated individuals. Projects range from small production fixes to large scale strategic systems.

    Cons

Strategic coordination across all departments within the company can be greatly improved; especially within IT. A premature IT process model along with a lack of centralized, proper tooling results in a very challenging workplace.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluate process and actually improve it. Communicate and enforce realistic expectations to all stakeholders. Enforce proper product documentation that can be referenced after a project is released. Consider an agile SDLC model.
