    Pros

Fellow employees, tips are high in general, free food

    Cons

Completely disjointed and unorganized management, little appreciation for what employees do, will work you to the bone if you let them.

    Advice to Management

Get in touch with your employees and treat them like people. Don't focus solely on the bottom line.

    Pros

Typical pro's of hospitality: discounts on food and lodging

    Cons

Very low pay scale, management in constant turmoil, lack of any good leadership leading to much misbehavior from management on site.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees, treat them better, offer more than just the typical hospitality perks and bring wages into the current brackets of pay for the industry.

    Pros

    Employment benefits are industry standard

    Cons

Corporate knows where they want to lead their company, but doesn't spend the extra money to hire qualified employees to lead them there. Compensation and advancement is directly dependent on personality acceptance within each hotel property on up to the corporate offices... if you make it there.

    Advice to Management

Hire qualified employees who have the experience and knowledge to implement training tools that nurture employees to great levels, instead of advancing cute smiles with no brains or drive.

    Pros

Company works in a "fun" vertical, they have good team building events, and most of the people there are nice and genuinely care

    Cons

Leadership, especially in the technical areas, is very weak. Not good communicators, lack skills necessary to properly manage employees and build a team, and has very shallow technical acumen, resulting in poor decision making and heavy reliance on external consultants. Poorly run organization overall. Lastly, tech management did not understand how to successfully build nor operate a technical infrastructure, resulting in the business not funding infrastructure, which caused massive instability and a company relying on 10 year old technology to provide services to its user base.

    Pros

Range of properties provide opportunities for individuals growing their career and willing to relocate.

    Cons

Inconsistent communication between corporate personnel and property management. A much higher degree of politically based promotion than I've experienced with any other corporation I have been involved with. this, unfortunately, results in people who are not qualified being in key decision making positions incorporating the 'cya'
    modis operandi.

    Advice to Management

Make the commitment to hire and promote managerial personnel, both property and corporate level, based on objective criteria, knowledge and skill, as opposed to personal relationships. Commit to clear, honest, straight forward communication. Then breathe both in and throughout the organization.

    Pros

    It beats working at Walmart

    Cons

Typical manipulation within American bureaucracy. The top level reap rewards whilst the laymen are stripped of quality of life and living and made to believe a measly compensation is considered "competitive".

    Advice to Management

Top level - shame on you for your blatant striping of dignity and quality of life through viable employment of your workers. Middle management - shame on you for settling on your mediocre bribes and promises, you are still taking advantage of the hardest workers who provide the bread and butter of your industry.

    Pros

local icon, heavily supported by locals. most staff members good people, still greeted with enthusiasm and affection when I come in.

    Cons

Nepotism raises its ugly head. Favoritism is rampant. Written warnings are fabricated. Management has a recurring habit of getting rid of anyone they feel is threatening their position. Upper management has no clue how to handle a restaurant (hotel) so they can't be bothered with the truth as they don't know what to do with it.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the supervisors & the majority of staff. Open your mind to something besides the comfortable black and white rules in front of you. Why is it supervisors last less than a year, even though they're doing a GREAT job? To restaurant management and the liars on staff: one day this will all come back to bite you.

Lack of involvement by corporate management at the property-level
Good work is not recognized by management
Some managers abuse power and reprimand good employees

    Pros

    -Discount at all properties
-Good place to start if you don't have a job and are currently unemployed
    - Immediate staff was great to work with

    Cons

-Closed down the hotel I worked at
-Very dicey as to who they want running what
    -No clear goals given

    Advice to Management

I would say that you need to get back to remembering how and who runs hotels. Opening water parks at various properties isn't a cure all.
