Sage has afforded me many growth and development opportunities

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsI've had the privilege of working with some pretty strong leaders over the years - not only within my own department but across the business; While I've proven myself at Sage, I've been afforded great opportunities to further grow and develop my career; Its tough these days to have a good work-life balance but management at Sage has allowed me the flexibility to maintain some balance - I'm a dedicated employee and feel that the loyalty I give to Sage is given back to me.

ConsSage has a very matrixed environment. It's sometimes challenging to work in such an environment as it's not for everyone. Sometimes the communication doesn't filter to all of the employees as it should, but I know Sage has taken steps to improve this and expect they'll continue to. Having employees all over US and Canada and often being remote from coworkers proves to be challenging so I hope Sage continues to focus on open and honest communication with employees whenever possible.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep sharing the vision and how we're going to get there with employees. Keep reminding us how each of us can play a role in helping Sage achieve what we've set out to do. Keep the flexibility that many leaders offer - encourage the rest of leaders to do the same. In this day and age, workplace flexibility is a must and certainly something that Sage should keep in order to maintain competitive with other employers.

Not an unfriendly person in the building!

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Irvine, CA

ProsSage offers a friendly team environment with positive interaction between departments. Employees treat each other with courtesy; offering to assist each other whenever possible. The executive assistants are always willing to share their knowledge and expertise, and the executives are approachable and welcoming. In addition to that, the benefits package is very good.

ConsThe chain of command is sometimes difficult to negotiate. Because of the company's size and many locations, it takes some time to learn the heirarchy.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to share with employees the company values, vision, and expectations. Increased communication regarding changes would be welcome.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Irvine, CA

Pros1) I was concerned with career progression, I’ve since been re-aligned and I have a future here. 2) Very flexible work hours with opportunity to work from home. 3) Great team atmosphere.

Cons1) I’m seeing both hiring and turnover 2) Things can move pretty quickly, so you have to be able to keep up, but the upside is that you never get bored! (not really a CON)

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work!!

I enjoyed my time at Sage North America, it was a comfortable place to work with nice people.

Senior Software Test Engineer (Former Employee) Scottsdale, AZ

ProsThe benefits were acceptable although they changed every year. The vacation and sick time were generous. The work environment was very comfortable. The managers were great, they pretty much left you alone unless they really needed something yesterday. Great underground parking.

ConsI think the upper management was a bit loopy. They were not always direct with the employees. I suppose when you are going to sell a division of the company you can't let anyone know about it. But blind siding tons of employees with lay-offs sucked. Other than the sale of Saleslogix and Act to Swiftpage it was great.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up with technology so you don't end up selling off valuable products for half their worth after years of development.
