I have been working at Sage full-time

    Pros

Great company, excellent benefits, nice people to work with. Listen to their employees and life / work balance is expected. Tools are provided, great hardware to work with.

    Cons

Old technologies, executive leadership changes often. The company is located throughout North America and communication between groups of employees is just starting to get better.

    Advice to Management

Starting to get a little top-heavy. Don't need a new VP for everything, look at the product lines that are your bread and butter and invest in those.

I have been working at Sage (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment that values employees and encourages individual contributions at all levels. There is an overall confidence and belief in the company's vision and product offerings that generates a positive atmosphere. I like that you don't have to wait a long time for benefits to kick in and the 21 days of Paid Time Off in your first year shows a serious commitment to work-life balance. In regards to Communication, I give very high marks as well. Frequent "All In" Meetings and Sage Central are a couple of examples of how well the Organization communicates, from Pascal and the ELT all the way down to local news items and bulletins.

    Cons

Not much to vent about really. I think as the labor market in certain areas (specifically in the Technical space) continues to tighten, Sage needs to try to stay more competitive in salaries - both when trying to get top talent in the door as well as when trying to keep top performers from leaving

I have been working at Sage full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I've had the privilege of working with some pretty strong leaders over the years - not only within my own department but across the business; While I've proven myself at Sage, I've been afforded great opportunities to further grow and develop my career; Its tough these days to have a good work-life balance but management at Sage has allowed me the flexibility to maintain some balance - I'm a dedicated employee and feel that the loyalty I give to Sage is given back to me.

    Cons

Sage has a very matrixed environment. It's sometimes challenging to work in such an environment as it's not for everyone. Sometimes the communication doesn't filter to all of the employees as it should, but I know Sage has taken steps to improve this and expect they'll continue to. Having employees all over US and Canada and often being remote from coworkers proves to be challenging so I hope Sage continues to focus on open and honest communication with employees whenever possible.

    Advice to Management

Keep sharing the vision and how we're going to get there with employees. Keep reminding us how each of us can play a role in helping Sage achieve what we've set out to do. Keep the flexibility that many leaders offer - encourage the rest of leaders to do the same. In this day and age, workplace flexibility is a must and certainly something that Sage should keep in order to maintain competitive with other employers.

I have been working at Sage full-time

    Pros

Sage offers a friendly team environment with positive interaction between departments. Employees treat each other with courtesy; offering to assist each other whenever possible. The executive assistants are always willing to share their knowledge and expertise, and the executives are approachable and welcoming. In addition to that, the benefits package is very good.

    Cons

The chain of command is sometimes difficult to negotiate. Because of the company's size and many locations, it takes some time to learn the heirarchy.

    Advice to Management

Continue to share with employees the company values, vision, and expectations. Increased communication regarding changes would be welcome.

Even though they are a large company, it doesn't feel like you get lost in the fray. They will acknowledge you for your achievements and reward you for them. The supervisors and the managers are great and you know they will stand up for you.

    Cons

None that I can think of!

    Advice to Management
