    Pros

Great team members and staff, also great shopping members.

    Cons

Some confusion at times due to incoming members or just associates misjudgments when on break and lunch. Oh and the pay is every by week, so 2 weeks.

    Advice to Management

Doing great no advice needed, very appreciative.

    Pros

At Sam's Club, you see a lot of loyal members who you get to know. Being a 'people person,' I really enjoyed being a cashier at Sam's Club. The pay was better than your average grocery store pay, and they did drawings for bonus gift cards each time we went a month without any accidents.

    Cons

Salesmanship is not my strong suit, and they want you to meet sales goals for upgrading memberships (no matter what job you have in the store). I did not enjoy it, but I did my best, and sold several.

    Advice to Management

Keep helping your associates get better at what they do, rather than just telling them they "need to do better," and then just walking off.

    Pros

You get to get along with new people and they can keep coming back to your line, because now they'll know who to turn to for great advice.

    Cons

It's hard to get people to upgrade their memberships, especially when you now realize that they either don't shop there often or they're just shot on money.

    Pros

Small staff, family feel. Some managers care about you as an indiviual and will give you recognition in a timely manner.

    Cons

Without many people to manage they notice small imperfections. They push credits, and upgrades all the time.

    Pros

401k matching dollar for dollar up to 6%, yearly profit sharing bonus, medical benefits for part-time associates, vacation pay for part time associates, personal time for part time associates, will work flexibly with school schedule, nice break rooms, each club works at raising money for multiple charities in their community each year, lots of different positions within the same building-easy to do something else when you're tired of your job, & you can work your way up into management.. most managers started as a cart runner or cashier.

    Cons

small raises once a year-40c 50c or 60c, terrible training-usually only a computer based learning (cbl) and then thrown into job with no practice, poor communication avenues from upper management down to the little guys, 1990's computer program for basic business tools like looking up stock (time to invest in new technology sam's club!), can get written up easily("job performance" can mean anything!) which will prevent you from moving around within the club for a year..

    Advice to Management

Step out of the office and learn what it is your associates have to do. Be available to step in and help when needed. Communicate what it is you want your associates to do and how they should do it-don't just expect it to magically happen. Back the policies Sam's Club has established and don't make up your own. Stay away from any kind of favoritism..
