I worked at Sam's Club part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people were great, and the pay was way better than I imagined.

    Cons

I didn't realize I would have to solicit people for credit cards, but it was a huge part of the job. I was already expected to start on my first day. One of my managers told us, "Remember, a 'no' is a request for information." It was just really uncomfortable.

I have been working at Sam's Club (Less than a year)

    Pros

It pays Well, you get a free Sam's Club membership, the people are nice, and they give you the number of hours you want.

    Cons

I was a baker so I had to come in at 5 am to open and I wasn't told this during my interview. They were not understanding of my school schedule/breaks. Some of the employees were unreliable and were not talked to by managers or fired. Everyone gossips about each other behind their backs.

    Advice to Management

If people don't show up or come in late without calling, you should talk to them about and fire them if it continues to happen. Don't "let go" of students who have to go home for breaks because they get kicked out of campus housing, because that's not fair.
