    Pros

    Decent pay for job
    Flexible work arrangements
    Competitive benefits (health, 401K)
    Company stability
    Generally good products

    Cons

A Korean company in the US. Korean management culture is very different from US culture
Poor IT infrastructure--it seems like they actively try to make it difficult to get work done
    Little recognition
Impossible to get promoted, no room for advancement
    No connection to customers

    Advice to Management

Work on career planning and advancement
Either give in and just become a Korean subsidiary or figure out how to compete with other Silicon Valley companies

    Pros

For the most part, very nice people. A lot of interesting things going on.

    Cons

One step forward, two steps back because everything needs to be approved by HQ. And even after greenlighted, can be changed midstream by HQ.

    Advice to Management

Allow true cooperation and exercise much less centralized control from HQ.

    Pros

Good benefits, nice offices, and decent salary. There are some really smart people working here, but chances are most of them are still in the "honeymoon" phase or got used to the money and the aimless direction management takes them in

    Cons

No one talks to each other, the company has so many projects and so many team and no one is on the same page.
This is a Korean company, that means politics and red tape everywhere. If you just want to take the money and have a stable work environment, come here, but if you want to do meaningful work and change the world, stay away.

    Advice to Management

Stop the passive aggressiveness. These are smart and good people. Trust them, and come to the modern age. Cut the bureaucracy and hierarchy.

    Cons

Hectic work schedule, no work life balance, poor management, long hours of work valued more than quality of work.

    Pros

    Great benefits, good (decent) salaries

    Cons

Prepare to be 'owned' 24/7. I worked out of NYC and dealt with managers in Korea and San Francisco every day. Due to the time difference this meant it was common to work 12 -15 hours each day.

    Advice to Management

Korea is the capital of South Korea, not the world!

    Pros

Good benefits (Healthcare, 401K). Extremely intelligent and educated workforce.

    Cons

Constant change. Everything is run from Korea (HQ). Local efforts are often over looked. Extreme internal politics, constant high level reorganization. Lots of employee churn after the Samsung mystique wears off and talented staff run out of patience and find they can work anywhere else they like. No employee ownership/stock plan. One way communication with HQ, information shared in a need to know only fashion.

    Advice to Management

Fight for autonomy and embrace the silicon valley work environment.

    Pros

OK Money, no 12 hour days.

    Cons

Middle management gums things up. Big barrier between Korean bosses and US workers.

    Advice to Management

Anonymous round robin reviews. Hire the contractors so they have a stake in the company's performance.

    Pros

Pay. Worklife balance is good so far, but when HQ starts to pressure management (the way this project is going, they certainly will), the pressure will fall at the feet of the employees who will be expected to work 24/7 to achieve unrealistic goals and pull something miraculously working out of a tangled heap of disorganized mess.

    Cons

Totally chaotic. Can't make progress because people are stepping all over everyone else's feet. Infighting abounds. Managers don't have a clue of the technical details and thus make unrealistic and unreasonable requests and misguided assertions which requires worker's time to try to explain often to no avail--managers want stupid things done, thus stupid things must be done and when it isn't successful the workers will be blamed.

The IT department is a pain in the neck and the compute resources are crappy (ultra books [so called] that work like crap), constant connectivity outages, lack of flexibility in how you can setup your work environment.

Apple need not worry. This place is a mess.

    Advice to Management

Fire the current management and find a group of leaders that believe in making progress in a less chaotic politically driven environment and instead is driven by problem solving and information. Give people in the group a sense that this project is well organized and makes steady progress toward realistic goals.

    Pros

cushy environment. good place to work if you are looking for something cushy

    Cons

HQ management does it's best to disempower its talent. There is little ability to empower or make changes. There are "dispatchers" from korea that are really just spies to make sure HQ influence and rules are adhered to. Because of the size and distance there is not much of a chance to shine in the company. Was unable to get raise to bring me up to market rate.

    Advice to Management

Empower your employees and pay them for good work
