I worked at San Jose State part-time for more than a year

    Pros

This is a great company to work for, and there are a lot of very educated people working for this university.

    Cons

Obviously people always want more pay, and that is true of this company as well, again my job was funded through the government, so there is not much one can do about getting a raise through your direct manager.

I worked at San Jose State as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly environment and nice people. iHouse has a wide range of activities and events, students could get experience there, which may build up their confidence.

    Cons

There are many traditions and rules that might be the challenge to do creativity projects. In addition, the majority of residences are exchange students, learning the good way to communicate with people who have different background is not a easy thing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Organising more activities for current residents. Moreover, reinforce the relationship with alumni, it could through sending newsletter, social media messages and so on.

I worked at San Jose State

    Pros

Very good teachers and excellent curriculum for advancing your career in Library Studies. Convenient and accessible online option to complete program.

    Cons

Perhaps the inability to complete the program sooner or other options to more easily complete the degree. Other than that, excellent school!

I have been working at San Jose State part-time for less than a year

    Pros

A well intentioned university that constantly strives for student success. The structure of the University truly provides a large quantity of services within a single organization. Services like, housing, transportation, events, academics, health, finance and the list goes on.

    Cons

The delivery of services by San Jose State University lacks a bit to be desired. The University pitches itself a being as college of everyone, no matter the need (culturally, academically, financially, socially, etc.) but tends to be "reactive" rather than "active" in it's approach. Fundamentally the University is driven by student enrollment and isn't accountable for much else. Hence the ernest from SJSU management is mostly on advertising rather then actively delivering quality services to students. This has a negative affect on both students and faculty.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know business of California State Universities (and it is business) is a difficult one yet a business can't succeed on advertising alone. Every organization must understand there systems and sub-departments on every level and make sure there all addressing the needs of customers (students) given the current market. In our global economy, organizations have to innovate at every level in order to stay competitive.

I have been working at San Jose State part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Wonderful in environment to work in with like minded people. I work for Associated students doing graphic design. There is great flexibility as it relates to scheduling and I am given the opportunity to be a self starter and work independently as well as collaborate with vendors and colleges. I am allowed to be as creative as I want. There is much respect for the creative process of the designers.

    Cons

Hours are capped due to budget and I only get paid once a month.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Acquire more Mac computers for design stations

  11.
