    Pros

Compensation above average Working time is flexible for exempt employees Leaders in 2D Memory Technology

    Cons

Company is becoming more of "Operations" than "Technology" based Silicon Valley company Toshiba builds the fundamentals of the Technology-SanDisk follows, does not lead Poor Technical Upper management skills Missed estimates the last 4 quarters in a growing Silicon Valley environment; not a good sign Commodity based industry; stock very unstable and heavily dependent on big customers

    Advice to Management

*Be a leader, not a follower *Find ways to innovate and move forward in the area of technology and not become an "Operations" company *Some of the upper management needs to be replaced or at least learn how to push innovation; also upper management still needs to have a technical background and not just try and be business savvy *Culture has changed and has become a "family and friends" hire organization *Do not hire just anyone or just hire a lot of people including family and friends. Hire the most qualified individuals

    Pros

    - flash is cannibalizing HDDs and will for years to come, guaranteeing the business will survive. It's practically idiot proof - coworkers are highly competent in most BUs, particularly in operations, and work very hard. Some are exceptionally great human beings - focus on rotating and learning different areas is great! - well recognized brand name - long term future is positive (2017 onwards), if you can ride it out.

    Cons

    - a 1990s company that never culturally changed with the times. Compared to their Bay Area competition, with startups and companies like Google, they are culturally regressive, prone to internal turf wars, and focused on hours not output. - significant portion of employees are H1B, so expect downward pressure on salary - just look at the stock. Multiple layoffs significantly impacting morale, and short term future not rosy due to loss of technology leadership in NAND (late to 3D NAND) - economy is hot, this company is not. The company sucks at M&A - if you are a millennial this is not the place to be.

    Advice to Management

    - take risks - diversify hiring - at least do even basic due diligence before M&A - consider culture improvements - keep up investments in talent
