    Pros

Great facilities, excellent scientists, small and comfortable buildings, decent salaries, convenient location, excellent weather!

    Cons

Lack of guidance in so many labs, people don't matter, solely publication oriented, no credit given even to the most fruitful, complete lack of culture, values and social life.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start caring for the postdocs and they will care for the science! One BBQ a year is not called a social life.

    Pros

Exciting to be at a company doing promising research, 401(k) plan can't be beat

    Cons

The administrative departments (marketing, development, finance, etc.) are an afterthought at best. Most of them are relegated to an ugly building way down the street from the labs, where morale is abysmal. Many people in these departments have never even met the CEO or had a tour of the campus. One guy in development who has been there many years seems to call the shots about who is hired and fired. People live in fear of being laid off for arbitrary reasons while people who do next to nothing get promoted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Integrate administration with the science side better, and get someone to oversee admin who will boost morale and reward hard work.
