Management at that time was cruel and sick in the way she punished employees with disabilities.

    Pros

I really felt like I learned a lot during my coop experience, even though this was only tangentially related to my chosen degree my supervisor allowed me to get some experience outside of the standard job description that I was filling.

    Cons

I really felt that I needed to move on as I wasn't a good fit for the current position that I was in, that's at no fault of anyone involved and was express on both entry and exit interviews.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be a little more open when filling coop positions on placing them where they would fit best instead of placing into a position and letting them cross train.

Former Employee - Senior Hardware Technician in San Jose, CA

    Pros

As I said Sanmina is a good Company, I would like to work for it again

    Cons

Example: I was watching a young girl been abuse by Supervisor and I stand up for her, but I did not know I am putting myself in a treble, as a result I had to find a job and get out before get layoff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove the unprofessional Supervisors from the line and put someone he or she knows something about the electronics and not gives hurt time to Technicians or the others.

    Pros

Very family-oriented. Everyone is friendly and very supportive of each other. Everyone feels important at this small division. Bonuses for key departments when goals are met.
    Open door policy.

    Cons

When supplies get thin in DRAM and NAND, because of size, low on suppliers' prioritties when filling orders. Experiencing growing pains. Just went through first bad qtr after years of record qtrs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work on improving processes. Division is still run like a smaller company and is getting too big for that.

Current Employee - Technical Support Specialist  in  Huntsville, AL
Current Employee - Technical Support Specialist in Huntsville, AL

    Pros

Excellent place to gain experience in a very fast-paced, large corporate environment. There are over 2000 employees in the Huntsville plant and the local support teams are understaffed. There is always work to do, and a solid sense of usefulness and accomplishment. The maintenance staff does a good job in keeping the facility clean which fosters a healthy work environment. Security is not oppressive. A very friendly and helpful group of co-workers.

    Cons

Lower than average compensation and pay-raise rates. Extremely thick bureaucracy that often creates annoying hurdles to jump through when trying to accomplish a job. Frequent high-percentage layoffs ("Reduction In Force"). Low opportunity for advancement in some positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    None at this time.
