Pros – Great managers, terrific opportunities to learn and advance. The delivery of information to help make decisions is first class. Employee benefits are some of the best you can get. I had the opportunity to work with some of the most intelligent, driven people I have ever met.

Cons – mostly managing contractors and sub-contractors. Sarpom does not readily embrace new technology and makes it difficult to get things done. Computers that are provided are slow and cumbersome to use as they are heavily restricted and controlled by IT. There is a process for everything and lots and lots of paperwork. Often it feels as if they don't really care if the job gets done as long as the paperwork is in order. There is a company process for everything and not open to variance. The massive number of the lately retired people has taken away the company know how and experience. Engineering and construction is rather all left to contractors. Poor control and knowledge about project management. Absence of real capital project technical reconciliation. Sarpom provides an RP's Club that is rather no use, nothing to offer but a couple of dinners out a year

Advice to Senior Management – Management should learn to be more aware of the performance of employees and get promoted and recognized based on that. Spend more time in the trenches really checking how people are doing on
