I worked at Schneider Electric as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

The company tries to do well by their employees, minimize layoffs, and actually believes in converting contractors to permanent employees however when I worked there they were still feeling the effects from the great recession so the company was being forced to sacrifice some contractors instead of bringing them on.

Relaxed and flexible atmosphere. Jeans and sneakers are common daily wear for engineers unless business attire is specified for client interaction. As long as you are completing your work as expected and meeting all job obligations in terms meeting and conference calls nobody will hassle you when you need a personal day, work remotely, or if you want to work an alternative schedule.

    Cons

Project schedules are constantly in flux with shifting timelines. This does create a lot of pressure at times, makes planing outside activities difficult as you just never know when that 60 hour final project push week will happen, and you never know exactly what your travel schedule will look like.

Compensation is ultimately fair however it is up to you to negotiate for it as initial offers were at the lower end of the spectrum.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the relaxed and flexible atmosphere as it really makes it easier on employees when working within the context of constantly shifting project timelines.
Low balling compensation and raise offers makes employees feel undervalued and just ends up being a stupid game which is unusual for this company which is otherwise very straightforward in dealing with employees.

I have been working at Schneider Electric full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great company culture and work-life balance. Organization has a strong focus on health and wellness initiatives. Have the ability to work in many different business units and segments given the wide organization. Typically always have something new in terms of service offering, so it would be difficult to get bored. I get to touch something new almost every day which makes work more exciting.

    Cons

This is a great company but the many acquisitions have created a complex business model which is difficult to navigate. Continued work is needed in terms of integration and simplification of the organziation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to find a way to educate on the many service offerings and find away for cross business unit collaboration.

I have been working at Schneider Electric (less than a year)

    Pros

Working at Schneider Electric has provided me with a comfortable working conditions, great opportunities for team work and professional growth, and short project length.

    Cons

I am currently only contracted employee, so I receive no corporate or health benefits through Schneider. Sometimes work can become tedious, but otherwise there are very few things to complain about.

    I worked at Schneider Electric

    Pros

Great atmosphere at the Alpharetta location, good opportunities, clear organization at the local level.

    Cons

Typical big corporation burocracy, bigger decisions get mired in a chain of approvals, and the company is constantly integrating the latest acquisition.

I have been working at Schneider Electric full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

I have been provided a tremendous opportunity to grow and develop as an employee. I was provided excellent training and tuition assistance to complete my undergraduate degree.

    Cons

Its big and getting bigger. The company is now less about the people than it was years ago. More and more, due to the growth and need for philosophy changes, executive positions are filled by external hires rather than "home grown" talent. Maybe good / maybe bad but a fact that leaves some with a poor impression.
