    If you put in effort you can learn a lot.

    Cons

    Many of the employees complain about anything and everything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get rid of the employees that have been there for 10 years and still don't understand the basics of ther job/ are odviously unproductive and lazy.

    Stable company with long history.

    Cons

    Too much politics. Needs more upper management involvement.

    Go out and talk to your employees. Engineers are like robots.....not very friendly.

    I have been working at Scientific Drilling full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Management recognizes employees' professional goals. They are willing to advance those who prove themselves worthy. Downhole tools and technologies are state of the art. Great health insurance and benefits.

    Cons

    Lack of formal training. Advancement is a slow process. On the lower end of the pay scale. Company 401k doesn't include full match.

    They seem to have a lot of expectations from a potential employee --- with respect to the work hours

    Cons

    HR needs to be prepared for questions related to H1b visa sponsorship

    Pros

    The health benefits for SDI are incredibly good. I really enjoy the satisfaction on knowing I'm covered. As well as the opportunity to work with good people is always nice.

    Cons

    Jobs last a bit longer than usual. Sometimes 30 plus days.

    Pros

    You will be paid a salary and truck allowance regardless if you put in field days.
    They pay fuel, oil change, cell phone expenses.

    Cons

    Management lacks the ability to plan and are very reactive.
    Last minute call-outs to jobs.
    Poor training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Learn who your top performers are and get their input. Plan ahead and don't treat your employees as expendable.
