I have been working at Scientific Drilling full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good job. Great potential. Great co-workers. Great bosses!!

    Cons

Severe under appreciation for MWD hands. Away from home a lot.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Im a DD who began as a MWD. Why does a DD make twice what an MWD hand makes? Its time to even the pay. This tells the MWD hands that they are not an important part of the company. When honestly they ARE the company. This company has a lot of upset employees. Its time to respect the people which are advancing this company into the technical future it is entering. Its time to make a change very quickly. If a strike were to happen, the company would shut down in a matter of hours. Time for some appreciation or this could be the case.

If you are an MWD please express your concerns. I have now seen the other side and realize how much the MWD does in comparison to the Directional side. Corporate needs to understand what makes this company.

It has been interesting to see the poor adoption of company culture by "legacy" employees. They are the worst thing.

    Pros

Things are pretty calm. People are nice. Flexible management. Easy going.

    Cons

Office is a little too easy going. Because of this the new changes presented by corporate make it harder for employees to accept.

    Pros

Excellent management team, real concern for people, values and working hard. Company has clear mission and direction. Great people considerate of others. Impressive growth. Service oriented. Good comp and benefits.

    Cons

Fast growth has caused a few stress points, but none that will not be overcome. Moving quickly from small company to impressive global force.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maintain focus on values, integrity and concern for people. Continue to share rewards for hard work. Communicate even more to every level.

    I worked at Scientific Drilling

    Pros

Awesome pay! If you have worked in the oilfield you know what I mean! The problem is you don't get much time to spend it.

    Cons

Honestly, everything about this job sucks, that is except for the pay. You live on the job site out in the middle of nowhere till the well is completed. That is not good for family life!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I don't know what to say here because Scientific Drilling is the only oilfield company I have ever worked for. Be that as it may, I think the management was fine.

    I worked at Scientific Drilling

    Pros

There is huge room for advancement. Nobody can hack it there because you work 300+ days a year. THey dont pay all that well as compared to other service companies. Spend a few years there and then bounce. They are so short handed, it is unreal.

    Cons

    No life, no time off.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give your guys some set time off.
