    I worked at Scotiabank as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

    Scotia bank assignment was excellent. Good team, good direction, good project. I would be happy to work there again.

    Cons

    There were no downsides to my assignment at Scotiabank. Project went well. Management competent. At the time impacted a bit by market conditions.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work. IT management and business contacts were excellent. Everything was fine no recommendations for improvement.

    Pros

    I enjoyed working at scotia bank, they have a strong sense of community and family. Did not feel like work at all when i was there.

    Cons

    because it is a big company it will take some time to climb the ladder, so you have to be patient and have a clear direction as to where you want to go in the company.

    Pros

    No high stress typical in other wall street banks. management recognizes personal contributions. Stable employment, from prudent hiring and no-waste cost management.

    Cons

    Dated IT systems. Risk control is too stringent to grow business.

    Pros

    Strong corporate culture, and great people to work with. With an older group of employees it is a great time to jump on as promotions are very realistic.

    Cons

    In the end it is a bank and they can move really slowly. Not fast enough for me to develop back end software to aid with business developments.
