I worked at Sealed Air Corporation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fortune 500 Company with great benefits, a gym, a great on-site work environment, and great managers! I loved my time there, and the people I worked with. Flextime. Managers don't micromanage. Tuition reimbursement, the list goes on.

    Cons

    I really don't have anything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

friendly working environment, flexible time, co-workers are helpful, projects driven

    Cons

maybe the location of the company. Since it's in a small town, not much fun thing to do after work unless you love nature exploring

I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. Vacation and holidays are great as well. Profit Sharing benefits are always good.

    Cons

The biggest challenge is to get plant management to understand the employees on the shop floor. Everything that is implemented is never sustained. Plant started as a team environment plant and its becoming more traditional as time goes by.
There is no ladder to climb, unless you have a degree and have a good relationship with upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you were to visit the worst Safety,Quality and Performance plants and talk to employees in order to empower them, it would be worth the trip, please don't just come in and talk to management and leave.

Plant management needs to learn how to lead by example.

If the shop floor was given the opportunity to evaluate each of their leaders, managers and supervisors, It would help identify weak points that are never brought up or addressed or just Ignored.

Visits without notice are always great because you get to see the real thing.

Our current sick time policy is good, but if you were to pay full pay for the sick time that rolls over each year, you will probably eliminate most of the call ins. Current policy just pays 50% once it rolls over. Its a better deal to call in sick and get full pay than having perfect attendance and only get 50% out of the sick time. Employees that have a perfect attendance should be rewarded, a certificate its a good start.

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity for advancement. Pay is good. Awsome benefits.

    Cons

They get a new "corporate slogan" every year, but many do that. Don't have anything bad to say, really.

I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation

    Pros

Everybody that I have had the pleasure of working with seemed to be knowledgeable and really forth coming with information to aid in training. Most everybody here are extremely friendly and easy to talk to about pretty much anything. Benefits kick in with vacation and all the other perks from day 1. That alone was enough to make me strive harder to get hired in. My plant
manager is good for coming out on the floor to see how his work force is doing. If things are not so good he takes an interest in finding out why. I have seen him make changes to make things better for people at the drop of a hat. I think all facilities should have Plant Managers like mine. I have worked here for a year, and I still think it is the best place in my city to work!

    Cons

Fingers point to easily to wipe blame on people. Proper investigations are not done in most cases to find out why somebody did or did not do something. I'd like to see that change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think you ALL should come to work once a week in jeans and a tee shirt , ready to get your hands dirty and get to know what we (the work force) go through on a daily basis. Get more that just the paper written version on how long something should take or how many people it takes to do a job. Sealed Air promotes and practices working safely. Sometimes more people are needed to make that happen on a job, and then vice versa. Maybe even just as you are walking around, listen to what the guys and gals are talking about. You just might overhear a great idea that will never get submitted because they might think it's a dumb idea. Encourage people to keep thinking about ways to make the job easier / more productive without compromising safety. Maybe even tell your people that no idea is a dumb idea. You might be amazed at the results you get!!

I have been working at Sealed Air Corporation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

New Senior Management clearly focused to screen and re-shape the total organization from top to bottom, walking the mission to re-imagine and getting the company fit as winning market innovator with admirable sustainability targets. Great place to work, company now developing from market leader convenience to best in place, future focused performer.

    Cons

Partly slow moving communication channels for cross functional and cross divisional decision processes, now constantly improving within company update.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compliments. Looking forward to the new Sealed Air.
