    Pros

They have koolaid. They tell you you're so pretty (but only when you're as pretty as everyone else). They give you free stuff, so you don't feel bad that you can't afford to buy it. You wear a uniform, so you don't have to worry about buying clothes (which is good because you can't afford them). They train you how to do someone else's makeup because makeup should be ordered from a menu, like at McDonalds, and it should be consistent and predictable, like at McDonalds.

    Cons

The health insurance doesn't cover the doctor's visit for when you get pink eye from using the testers. You can't get ahead in the company if you're not a Stepford wife (It's for the best, because you'll still be dependent on your husband. Thank god you're married).

    Advice to Management

Pay your people what they're worth. I get it, though: You don't make the budget. It's not your fault.

    Pros

Very rewarding working with clients Wonderful Gratis program Excellent education on products from regional educators

    Cons

a very cut throat environment to not be commission base. No professionalism in regards to management. Hours were not earned by work ethic and sales, rather based on how well you were liked that week.

    Advice to Management

Put people in management positions who have experience and not just who you would rather spend your time around. (your friends)

    Pros

Great ideas . Great perks for employees , like gratis and Constant training.

    Cons

Underpaid, not appreciate . store directors and specialist don't follow protocol . Their unfair they don't care for your growth only if your a favorite. Way way way underpaid . The company only cares for clients which by the way it's because of the people that work so hard at sephoras that they have traffic. Hours are horrible . Way to much responsibilities not paid accordanly.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your good employees that are constantly on the surveys which makes you have extra money in your pockets . Stop favoritism with some employees that take credit for what they don't do . Don't sit for hours in avoffice chit chatting and getting paid for it . Have more appreciation for hard working people .

    Pros

Once in awhile you will get free products for friends and family

    Cons

The agency i worked for(Olsen works) NEVER paid people on time and always had an excuse blaming it on Sephora management. No standardization of anything IT related, sephora management is little more than a punching bag. The entire corporate IT team is at each others throats constantly and act like children when facing real issues. Its better to get the job done then find out root cause later and discuss among affected parties. Instead they choose to have open email battles where the entire company can see the dysfunction. Management changes its mind every five minutes causing the IT department to stand around with its pants around its ankles looking stupid all the time. There is no clear direction. The executive admins control the entire work space and dictate policy. This is totally horse poop for anyone trying to run a department successfully. Have your own vision and stick to it, bending to everyone's will is feeble minded and foolish. The team i was on absolutely hated each other and it was apparent because the guys wore it on there faces everyday. Moral was terrible and i wouldn't be surprised if a fight broke out between the techs eventually. The end users are absolutely un realistic and obnoxious and truck the entire desktop support team. They do that to every single person in the overall IT department actually, it causes overlap and huge issues. This place is toxic inside and out and there is a ton of conflict of interests going on, people making their own schedules, and blatant contractor vs fte discrimination. All of that going on and to not be paid on time made me walk away from this disaster. NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE

    Advice to Management

Find clear direction and stick to it. Stop making excuses at every turn and research and get things done correctly. Stop being lazy and find a legit contracting company if that is the route you decide to stick with. The bigger agencies charge more for there labor but they are licensed, bonded and insured. Olsen Works is a huge joke of a contracting company that screws employees over and is a career killer.

    Pros

I am honestly finding it most difficult to find positives about Sephora employment. It just may only be the discount, but even that is not all positive. You can get a nice percentage off especially in 'holiday season' but a cap of $ amount is small and don't even think you can buy your mom a special present with your discount. It's for personal use only and they stress that heavily.

    Cons

Poor employee relations, if you want to feel like an insignificant laborer this would be the place. Terrible pay and even worse benefits. Try working 12, 22 10 hr days in a row. Oh, but now the cap is 12 days. And they think we should be grateful, pathetic. They say 'work life balance' is one of their values. That is only true if your definition of balance is out of balance. For example, schedules change, overtime is last minute and mandatory which is business except that no effort is given to be proactive. They very often know when spikes in volume are expected but will wait until the last minute to communicate. Never could figure out if it was malicious or just really really poor management.

    Advice to Management

Make the same effort to invest in your associates as you do pretty new stores or distribution centers. Value your employees, and recognize that it's not the big new building that makes your money it's all the employees working that are making you that money.

    Pros

The pay is great for a cashier they give you about $10 an hour, you receive gratis as well as 50% off sephora brands & 20% off all other brands

    Cons

The hours are long, there is no downtime it is ALWAYS busy. Management is unprofessional and take sides within the employees and treat everyone differently.

    Pros

a stepping stone for high school graduates till they figure out what they want to do and move on; yes its great to have access to cosmetics and gratis from brand vendors but not worth it.

    Cons

Managers have no management skills no communication skills, no training how to treat people. employees are abused, mistreated and forced out. Don't apply for a job unless you're under 40 years old.

    Advice to Management

stop promoting individuals with minimum to no management skills; your store managers need training on how to manage; how to communicate
