    ProsManagers respect opinions of their staff, and give a lot of different oppurtunities to progress on to more technical areas.

    ConsCan be hard to get new ideas passed by Japanese management, withholding of information is a big problem but can be improved.

    Advice to Senior ManagementShare information more freely between the Japanese and other design centres. Take on new ideas and be more aggressive in exploiting opportunities.

    ProsThe research and technolgy development is second to none. The environment is ideal for creative individuals who want to manage their career through initiative and hard work.

    ConsWhile there are numerous postive attributes about working at Sharp, there remains a continual and growing fear that market and competiitive (Korean) conditions will test the firm in news ways that have never been dealt with before.

    Advice to Senior ManagementI would suggets that management contine to stay focused on the technology that has brought the company so many years of good results. As for the new challenges ahead -- don't jeopardize the brand for short term gain.
