    Pros

I worked in the MTO area most of the time, which I really enjoyed because I was constantly busy. Staying busy definitely made time go by much faster. I started at $10 an hour, which is a pretty decent amount where I live. I also will say that Sheetz does do a very great job at making sure all of the food products are up to date and safe to eat. Everything was constantly being cleaned and checked for the safety of the customers.

    Cons

The management was TERRIBLE. The only thing the managers were concerned about was getting the highest scores when the "secret shoppers" came in. One employee forgot to put a sauce on a sandwich a secret shopper ordered, so because of that the store lost points. Later at a meeting the managers pointed out directly what employee forgot the sauce and treated the employee extremely rude for days afterwards. Seriously? I was in a car accident and was told by my doctor not to return to work for AT LEAST a week. When I called in and told a manager the only thing they said was "Well you need to bring in a doctors note as soon as possible cause otherwise you could get fired." The managers were not concerned about the employees, they were only concerned with being the BEST store possible. Also, after you turn 18 you no longer get a 30 minute break, but instead you get a 20 minute break. This means that for an 8 hour shift (which usually goes beyond that time if things need to be done) you will be standing on your feet for 7 hours and 40 minutes.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to the managers you higher and stop making stores compete with each other to get the best scores on everything! A new system needs to be incorporated.

    Pros

Co workers can be cool. Free drinks from fountain. Its a gas station job, it is what it looks like. There are better opportunities. Consider it like a McDonald's.

    Cons

Horrible hours, they are open 24/7. Customers can be terrible, you see all types of people. Like many low paying shift work jobs, favoritism runs rampant.

    Pros

Decent benefits, discount on food while on the clock

    Cons

Micromanagement, a lot of bad coworkers, company is headed in the wrong direction

    Advice to Management

In 2014 Sheetz had their best year in company history. So what do you think they would do in 2015? The answer would be, change everything and micromanage all their stores rom the corporate level. Sheetz is moving in the wrong direction.

    Pros

Good wage and bonuses. Nice employees

    Cons

Unstaffed due to lack of scheduler hours, new training program is inconsistent and churns out ill-prepared employees, absentee policies for employees is too leniant which leads to excessive call-offs without fear of disciplinary action. Work load for management is inundated the "busy work" which prevents us from being able to focus on customer and employee needs

    Advice to Management

The corporate office needs to stop trying to change every aspect of the company.

    Pros

Great company and benefits! Generous salary and bonuses.

    Cons

No personal life; we're open 24/7 365 regardless of any situation.

    Advice to Management

    Cut the drama. Really unnecessary.

    Pros

They generally start their employees out at above minimum wage and tend to give raises pretty often (once a year on your hire date). Sheetz hires from within so it allows for entry level employees to become shift manager and then store manager pretty quickly.

    Cons

The store manager was stern, critical, and unpleasant to work with virtually all of the time. I feel that Sheetz as a company should place more thought into the promotion process as opposed to the mindless ladder-climb that it is by testing interpersonal communication skills.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest enforcing a measure to ensure that management works to improve employee morale and affection for the company.

    Pros

    Hours and flexibility. Fast-paced environment.

    Cons

Almost always understaffed. Beware of working weekends or 2nd shift. Their sales are going up, but they keep cutting store hours. If one person calls off, prepare for an even-worse shift! They also have cut part-time benefits. Not good for college students anymore. Just more unneeded stress.

    Advice to Management

Need more staffing. With such a complex MTO menu, greater sales, and pricier food, why aren't you putting more people on shift?

    Pros

OKAY job if you're in college and looking for something part time. They pay well for part time. This job can literally suck so much at times, but it is motivation to finish school :). Employee for 4+ years.

    Cons

None of the coworkers have any life goals. I was looked down on for going to school and bettering myself. I heard multiple times throughout my college career, from management and workers alike that I was wasting my time going to school. They told me that I'd never find a job and blah blah blah. Funny now that I have a salary job that I love doing and they're stuck making MTO's. Be aware that before you take a job like this that the coworkers have little to no ambition and do not respond well to others success. (This may have been an isolated issue to my Sheetz)

    Advice to Management

Leave your personal problems at home. Just because you had a bad day, there is absolutely no justifiable reason to take it out on your employees. I worked here for over 4 years and I've never been more happy quitting. I am finally happy again. The negative atmosphere is not a place that breeds success. Message to upper management: You claim Sheetz is a family company, yet you take employees away from their families on EVERY holiday so you can make more money. Also, you do not work holidays.... Hmmm, HYPOCRITICAL.

    Pros

Good pay for the area, benefits are decent

    Cons

You only get the good shifts if you are the 'bosses pet' for his precious lunch shift. So many people only work that one shift or get pulled from other shifts that no work gets done on 2nd and 3rd shifts.

    Advice to Management

Try working one or two 2nd or 3rd shifts to figure out what actually gets done in your stores.
