    Sheetz is ok

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe money can be good. A lot of stores try and promote a family atmosphere within themselves.

ConsWork life balance can be a problem. People always call off so you are getting called at least twice a week to come in. The new trend right now is to constantly be short staffed. the mangers state that they don't have the hours to give anyone but they then hire new people at least one a month. Turn over is high.

    Mixed Emotions

Sales Associate (Former Employee) Canonsburg, PA

    ProsMostly nice management
    Great Pay
Corporate really cares about their workers
    New growing company

ConsThe environment is toxic: The customers can be very mean and sometimes so are your coworkers. Shifts are very frustrating for everyone in the store because of the fast pace everyone has to work at; this is fast food after all and customers want to get in and get out. Meanwhile you have to make everything fresh in that timely manner. It's almost impossible to get projects and cleaning done because of the heavy flow of customers. You can't rely on someone else to finish that project either and you almost always have to stay overtime to finish.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think the big guys are doing a great job. I enjoyed the benefits offered, the chances to get the most of the job, and the little bonuses and Christmas gifts I was sent. I think this company is going far and will hopefully spread from the northeast to across the nation soon.

Good to employees but low starting wages at corporate level.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsStock match, ESOP, time off, reliable source of income.

ConsLow starting wage at corporate level for college graduates. When you get in to your position there is some growth but soon enough you will max out.

    Extremely busy

Sales Person (Current Employee) Pittsburgh, PA

ProsGood if your a college student or in an assistant manager or GM position. Promote within.

ConsStarting wage is 8.75 but you work to cover cost of gas for traveling to and from work. Wish the pay was higher for what we do then it wouldn't be so bad. It is a very demanding job and not appreciated for what we do. Not a good starting wage if you have a family to support and cannot move up in position quickly. Not always staffed enough to cover each shift and only 50% off food when working, nothing when your off the clock.

Advice to Senior ManagementI think that corporate employees who have never worked in the kitchen should work it for a couple weeks. I think then they will understand how you have to be staffed to keep customers happy and take the stress off of the employees. Also would have a better understanding for how things should be set up and for food options that would decrease waiting time. I also think they would understand that living off of 8.75 really isn't ideal. We work very hard at what we do and don't get paid for what we accomplish each day. Sheetz is a good company to advance within if your able to work the long demanding hours, but I wish the pay was better and we had more support.

    Not great.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Uniontown, PA

ProsDiscount on food which I guess is cool. I honestly can't think of any other positives.

ConsHigh turn over rate, poor management. I think other stores probably have a better deal going on, but I was working at an old one that was a mile away from where they had just built and opened a brand new Sheetz. They sent all their best managers there and left the terrible ones for the store I was at.

ConsManagement, No one listens to you, Will run you over, Strenuous hard work

Advice to Senior ManagementTake the time to actually give those who deserve the promotion a chance.
