I have been working at Sherwin-Williams full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Good benefits - Match 401 up to 6% - Decent pay for the work done

    Cons

    - Hours are very long and open seven days a week. - Lack of employees make the job stressful because of the hours that must be put in to run store. - lack of growth within the company.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that assistant managers are treated like that and not just a third key holder. Be fair with the with scheduling and don't have that "I went through it so you have too attitude"

    I worked at Sherwin-Williams full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The benefits are pretty good, all things considered. I had to call the corporate office for questions about benefits and they were always helpful.

    Cons

Well. It's not a bad job. It changed from the time I was there from the time I left but it really was an old boys club so far as management was concerned. If upper management liked you it was all good. If not, well ... good luck.

    Advice to Management

Continue to improve on treating your employees like they have lives outside work.

    I worked at Sherwin-Williams full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great customers. Most are relatively nice and quick. Work isn't that hard, just a lot of it. Don't ever have to stay over.

    Cons

Some customers require 30minutes - hours of attention and need many details.

    Advice to Management

Advance more readily instead of holding back.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Sherwin-Williams (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, salary, good workplace environment but the higher ups really only care about their bottom dollar and the bonuses.

    Cons

Corporate Mumbo jumbo not people persons. The corporate claw becomes monotonous, hours are long because they are scared someone will go to lowes to buy a gallon of paint

    Advice to Management

Tell your staff you appreciate them

    I worked at Sherwin-Williams full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good products and supply chain; plus, above average benefits (not necessarily pay).

    Cons

Mid managers can expect super hard time and work demands.

    Advice to Management

Drop a little bit of the senior management's extremely high pay, perks, benefits, bonuses, and options, and let the stores run on better than a skeleton crew.

    I have been working at Sherwin-Williams full-time

    Pros

Benefits are great, hours are suitable, and it creates minimal stress. You never have to worry about taking the work home with you or being consumed by it.

    Cons

Upper management is an "old boys" club. In the sales parts of jobs, success can be completely manipulated by housing market. Hard work as an hourly employee is a complete waste of time.

    Advice to Management

End the extended hours for super sales. Encourage management to make appraisals reflect the employees performance and do not allow it to become a trickle down of the manager's appraisal.
