    Pros

The management at least in my store is fantastic Able to get hours off that are needed mostly due to management. Clown costumes are fun and you get to work in a family environment. Discount is pretty good 25% off

    Cons

Horrible pay almost 2 years barely making $7.48 NO brakes unless you're working 7 or more hours you don't get a break Corporate changes rules constantly that are very contradicting, makes for unnecessary work. No recycling like at all this was my biggest issue with company asked several times even at corporate level and no response, management also knows and is quit aggravated at the fact. Everything we throw away is recyclable and they choose not to do so, i ended up taking the plastic home with me i got so aggravated with this issue. This is why this corporation wont open up in Washington or California is they won't meant the pollution and recycling standards.

    Advice to Management

Leave This is not a good company, the management i have worked with are some of the most competent, smart, and nicest i have ever met. I Know they don't really have a choice on what to pay or environmental policies, i don't blame them at all.

    Pros

Benefits are good. The associate discount is good. The Mic is fun.Working with public is challenging but rewarding.

    Cons

There is not much quality of life. The hours at times are very demanding. There are shoe moves that a lot of times make no sense to customers. The company has changed in last two years not fun anymore. The job threat is really bad. There are job threats per e mail and conference calls if you listen close.

    Advice to Management

If you want your managers to counsel associates then you should do the same with managers within different regions. The CEO has no idea maybe of the regionals he has out there that get in your face. The new regionals within the company do not have the passion just the desire to prove their selves. It sad to see where its headed.

Over minimum pay within the first month, and employee discount

    Cons

lack of communication, they all gossip, can not keep employees personal information confidential , they never directly tell you when you're doing something wrong but instead tell someone else where you can hear.

    Pros

Great people in a fun environment. Very understanding and accommodating.

    Cons

The hours were way too long and not enough breaks are given in that period of time. The sales concept was a failing system. Working the mic was an annoyance and it interrupts the customers enjoyment of the music and shopping atmosphere. The break room is the stock room so there's no sink and it's dirty and you are surrounded by boxes everywhere that can block you or fall on you.

    Advice to Management

Pay your supervisors more money. It's such a big responsibility especially when supervisors are managers on duty when the managers aren't there. The sales concept needs to be tweaked to be reasonable. Multiple breaks need to be given in an 8 hour day instead of just 1. There needs to be a better understanding and concern about fire and safety hazard. The break room is the stock room and it is packed to the max with boxes that could easily fall on people or block exit ways.

    Pros

Great concept fun Atmosphere. when presented naturally and not forced.....great store level hard working employees.

    Cons

Regional managers had insane unreasonable expectations, they made many demands of me with no realistic solutions.. frustrated and demoralized most of our staff. It was way to stressful for the small amount of pay i was offered. i left when they were cutting fulltime staff to 30-34 hours..we hired no full time employees. in my experience part time folks arent motivated to excel. sadly the store was profitable. no one can live on 30 hours a week.!

    Advice to Management

Take a deep breathe and be a bit more realistic. this company is way to motivated by making there share holders happy and not concerning themselves better product offerings and with properly paying there employees. this lack of vision will eventually bite them in the butt. In this environment its very important to keep great employees. No one can live on 30 hours a week. I once had a regional Loss prevention manager ask me why i had so much stolen merchandise.. he was clueless when i told him i could afford only 2 employees on the salesfloor. he had no real solutions.

    Pros

-Friendly environment and Friendly people. -25% discount, which I think is good for such a pricey store -Flexible Schedule

    Cons

-Very low pay. The managers always talk about how much of a demanding job it is, but yet we are paid $7.50/hour. -Employee of the month is through favoritism and there are no perks that come with it, just your name on the wall. -Inconsistency in scheduling makes it difficult to make plans outside of work. -Horrible Hours. We are on our feet 9-10 hours a day and only given 30 minutes break and that is when you are 7 hours into your shift. -They rarely give you the weekend off. -The Regional Manager is very condescending, looks down on employees. -New employees do not receive any formal training, they are just tossed right into work. -We also do not get paid double for working on the holidays. -Can be very slow. The store could be open at 7:00 am, but customers do not arrive until 10:00 am - 11:00 AM, so you will find yourself standing by the front doors doing nothing. -Low productivity. You will find yourself just standing or walking around the entire store for a long period of time when the store is very slow.

    Pros

*Good employee benefits *Employee discount was good *Started as a cashier and worked way up to General Manager postion *Great job is you had a fair Regional Manager

    Cons

*Long hours, weekends and holidays - hence no family time *If you had a fair and reasonable Regional Manager your life was a piece of cake - if you had a bad Regional Manager your life was a nightmare *Discrimination against female managers - apparently we are stupid *Worked my way up from a part time cashier to a General Manager moved several times for the company and made peanuts. Managers hired from the outside made a lot more money than those that were loyal worked their way up in the company.

    Advice to Management

Be fair. The employees who work their way up in the company should be compensated the same as those hired from the outside. Company needs to be considerate of employees and their work-life balance. This is a job. Everyone is entitled to have a life. This is no life saving or altering work that is being done.

    Pros

Friendly environment and management works with school schedules.

    Cons

Long hours and if you move into management they pretty much own you. No compensation even when the company clears 40 million and brag about it. I worked for similar companies where come the Holidays they give you at least a turkey and for Christmas at least a 100 dollar bonus. Here they just put you on 6 day work weeks and load you up with more work an very little payroll. Customers have gotten a clue how this company works and want to file complaints for everything so they can get a certificate without the company listening to the employees side. My advice is if you join this company, don't go past floor supervisor or you'll miss out on the few perks they offer full timers!

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees, especially when your store managers carry alot of the weight because GM's tend to delegate alot....
