    I worked at Shoney's part-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Mostly pleasant coworkers, scheduling flexibility, good work-life balance. As a waitress the hours are few but the money is good.

    Cons

Slowing sales at times, something that might get one person in trouble may not get someone else in trouble.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take more opinions of your employees, servers especially, into consideration. Frequent menu changes aren't always a good thing, just as having too many choices can be a bad thing too.

    I worked at Shoney's

    Pros

If an individual enjoys the opportunity to help a company climb back on top, you will enjoy working at Shoney's. The department I worked in treated their people very well. A lot of respect, support and encouragement were shown.

    Cons

Limited advancement opportunities as the company is not growing at the present time. The future is not certain in these economic times.

I have been working at Shoney's

    Pros

the money is good and it has raised my family...just in the past ten years have they really understood what our families mean to us at least at my store.

    Cons

our management doesnt make all of our employees abide by the rules...they pick certain people to enforce them on.....WRONG...bad management if one has to follow rules then all should have to no matter color nor race...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

look arounfd u and see who is really management material don't just pick someone who will fill the slot and work for littler wage than u would have to pay someone more qualified.

I have been working at Shoney's

    Pros

One of the best easons i like to work at Shoneys is because they work with my collage schedule. Th managers realy care about ou and your well being. It also is alows youo meet people that can help you in getting a jobrelated to your colleage degree.

    Cons

Some of the cons include having to work on weekend nights. Also having to close on nights with early morning classes the next day is hard.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would advise that when you have a good selling menu item do not take it of because it makes people really mad when their favorite menu item is gone. Also in small towns such Shoneys should closeat 9:30 because you don't do enought business to stay open until 10 because someone always comes in at 9:55 and makes everyone stay late, thus causing labor to be higher.
