    Pros

Personally, all my co workers that I work with every time I'm working are like family to me. Almost half of my coworkers don't even keep locks on their lockers. We're pretty happy working together. One thing I'd like to add to that though, is that your co workers are really the ones that make working there worth it; once you have several terrible experiences with some wretched customers already, you'll find actually serving the public to be disgusting and possibly scarring if you let them get to you like I did as sweet little innocent me starting out. Again, your co workers should always be people you are comfortable with and enjoy working with, or else you'll find difficulty in enjoying your job, placement, and wanting to keep your job and not quitting.

    Cons

As a con relate to your experience serving the public, I would definitely, as a already have, discourage friends from working there just because of how horrible it is having to stand the customers there. It would be much different if it was in a clothing store, because people may only be browsing and many won't buy anything the first time they walk in, but when your customers are coming in for certain things and anything goes wrong like they may ha ve believed an item was on for a different sale price even though it clearly states that it is for a different day, they will still cause a scene and make it seem like you, as in the company, are doing something wrong or made a mistake? Most of the time the customers are idiots that get their only joy of the week from abusing us in our position. Anyway. I feel like I was only trained and prepared for proper transaction conduct and requirements, however I was in no way warned about the treatment I would receive from customers.. I wasn't told how exactly to diffuse an angry and aggressive customer, nor specific things I needed to know, such as not charging Shoppers employees for bags, or even that customers don't recieve optimum points for things like gift cards (except SDM gift cards) or stamps etc.

    Advice to Management

More thorough training for all aspects would be quite valuable for the customer's experience and the new employee's experience with getting used to how to do their job.

    Pros

The pay is fair and the discount is pretty good. The optimum program is great and gathering points is easier when you work with them due to discount and 20x the points events.

    Cons

Micromanagement has made it a bit hard to enjoy working there but it also depends on the people that manages others.

    Pros

    - Guaranteed 60 minutes of break on an 8 hour shift; two 15s and a half-hour lunch
    - COMMISSION. I once made over $250 on a pay check in commission.
    - Flexibility with changing your availability

    Cons

    - Hours are cut if store profits fall, resulting in under-staffed stores at times
    - An abundance of "lifers", i.e. miserable and uneducated middle-aged women
    - Be prepared to be treated like an idiot for working in Cosmetics, but laugh knowing you're making commission equal to other peoples' entire wages

    Advice to Management

Don't cut hours to compensate for store profits dipping, it can result in stores that are vulnerable to theft and other mischief due to understaffing
