    Pros

The best reasons to work at Shoppers Drug Mart were the friendly workplace environment and the high salaries comparing to other companies.

    Cons

The disadvantages of the company were the little vacation period and the extensive hours of operation comparing to other companies.

    Advice to Management

I would like to advice you to open a single store of your company in Albania,Europe because Albania is a country model in Europe for the economical growth. The Prime Minister,Sali Berisha will help you to establish the new business there. The profits will come from the first year. The taxation system is the lowest in Europe.

    Pros

Great customer service experience, helpful team, and discounts on merchandise. Also, an opportunity to grow into a higher position

    Cons

Seniority will always get the best hours and you will get whats left over. Which means that you may not get as many hours as you want.

    Pros

    - Guaranteed 60 minutes of break on an 8 hour shift; two 15s and a half-hour lunch
    - COMMISSION. I once made over $250 on a pay check in commission.
    - Flexibility with changing your availability

    Cons

    - Hours are cut if store profits fall, resulting in under-staffed stores at times
    - An abundance of "lifers", i.e. miserable and uneducated middle-aged women
    - Be prepared to be treated like an idiot for working in Cosmetics, but laugh knowing you're making commission equal to other peoples' entire wages

    Advice to Management

Don't cut hours to compensate for store profits dipping, it can result in stores that are vulnerable to theft and other mischief due to understaffing

    Pros

It was good because it was relaxing. I enjoyed how people treated me.

    Cons

They are short staffed, and I often found myself to be the only cashier when the lineup is large.

    Pros

I loved working in a job that was meaningful as opposed to flipping burgers at McDonalds. I loved working with different pharmacists and getting to work in a team. The employee discount is amazing and is 30% off any original priced item.

    Cons

Hours had no flexibility due to the fact I was working with others who worked there full time (didn't have time to take extra shifts off) Had to organize life around work. Long stressful shifts that really tired me out.

    Advice to Management

Not a lot of room for personal and professional growth. Stuck filling prescriptions like a robot, nowhere to look to aspire

    Pros

    Good learning environment
    Flexible hours
Pharmacists were as eager to teach as I was to learn
Never really felt put down even when I made those occasional silly mistakes

    Cons

Like other pharmacy chains, intern pharmacist's work for free as volunteers and struggle to pay their bills while doing the internship. No real reflection on SDM per say but on all pharmacies in Canada

    Advice to Management

Easy going Nigerian Associate. Great guy with great attitude.

    Pros

very nice working environment, treated more like a drug store vs a grocery store compared to working in the larger chains like safeway, superstore etc, pharmacy computer system very easy to use and useful resources provided

    Cons

average hourly wage is a little bit lower vs other companies, no pharmacist overlaps in particular stores, hours can be irregular, have to work rotating weekends
