No growth or training for employees. You have to brown nose to get anywhere. HR says leave the company for growth!!

    Human Resources Services (Current Employee)
    Orlando, FL

ProsStable company. Clean work environment. Fair compensation.

ConsManagement is not responsible and does not take ownership. You have to be related to them or their drinking buddy to get ahead. No training to grow within the company. The Management acts as if they care only during the time when survey's are conducted.
Upper management turns a blind eye towards this and when HR is addressed in regards to promotion and growth they say we have to look outside Siemens and come back.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake ownership and work like it is a career. Train and identify talent to be the next manager within Siemens.

Very poor work ethics and quality,

    Biochemist I (Current Employee)
    Los Angeles, CA

    ProsGood friendly workers
    Pleasant working area

ConsVery little to no raises or bonuses
Upper management is very uncaring and neglectful
Blame is easily transferred to lower employees
Employee turn over rate average is 6 months to 1 year
    Career development is not possible
    Education is irrelevant to status
Job title is not applicable to work load
Over abundance of management per worker

Advice to Senior ManagementReduction of upper management. Proper work adjustment associated to title

Not the type of company I want to be a part of

    Leadership Development Participant (Former Employee)

    ProsDecent Pay and Benefits
    Value Knowledge
Work with a lot of smart engineers

ConsWhat came across to me most was a "if you can't make it, fake it" culture. You were given numbers you were expected to hit and even management would tell you that if the team couldn't hit the numbers (because they were often a bad standard made by people who didn't understand the process) then you needed to find a way to make it look like you did.

In my opinion they also came across has having 0 loyalty. I was in a program for up and coming leaders that they spent quite a bit of money on. I left because after going on unnecessary company trips and outings we would go back to facilities and watch people get laid off. I knew that if that was what they were teaching upcoming management was ok in their company - I wanted nothing to do with it.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop micromanaging the individual contributors by making decisions on their numbers from a different country - or if you do, listen to reason when they tell you its not possible. You are only hurting yourself but creating a culture where it is better that they lie to you about the numbers. Can't figure out why your savings never seem to match the numbers your teams are reporting? That's why!

Accepting this Internship offer was one of the worst decisions of my life!!!!

Supply Chain & Purchasing Intern (Former Employee)
    Malvern, PA

ProsThere were none except maybe their cafe.

Cons1) The entire department is talking behind interns if one doesn't submit work on time or makes any mistake..... I was here for descent challenge but they expect new interns to know everything without any clear instructions..Absolutely brutal.
    2) You better know Excel inside out....above advanced skills to survive here.
    3) If you're not meeting their expectations they will kick you out....this is the first time I ever saw a company kick out interns which i find ridiculous.
    4) The most unprofessional place I have ever seen, Senior Directors and managers cursing out on regular basis but it didn't bother me.
    5) The internship was just horrible especially the work.

Sales are down. Morale is low. Everyone is trying to be useful and look as busy as possible.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
    Malvern, PA

ProsMedical benefits (why else would you put up with this garbage?)

ConsMicro-managing managers. Top heavy upper management. No vision. Too many seasoned employees who've outgrown their usefulness.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your direct reports - they're in the trenches all day and know what's going on. Think outside of the box!! Be flexible with your direct reports....nobody wants to work for an a-hole.

Hostile work environment and internal "mob" structure

    Issaquah, WA

    Prosthe company has "good" benefits

Consyou can guarantee that you will be underappreciated
    overworked
    micromanaged
    job security is low
internal "mob" structure based on internal favoritism that makes the people who are "out of network" to leave
For every 1 person that actualy works there are at least 5-6 managers

Advice to Senior ManagementOpen up your minds and simplify the processes

Disappointing in terms of opportunities for job growth

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Mountain View, CA

ProsSaleries are fair, benefits are good, generous PTO (vacation) program (as long as you don't get sick), nice location close to Google campus.

ConsSoon to be five CEOs in five years. Market share is half what is was eight years ago. Management is delusional regarding what it would take to make it back to where we were.

Many of the VPs who got us into this mess remain. Needless to say, most employees can't understand why they are still here.

Company is quite understaffed after years of lay-offs (even after expanding a bit during the last year), so everyone is overworked and cooperation suffers.

People stay on because they love Ultrasound and the economy is bad.

Advice to Senior ManagementGer rid of the under-achieving VPs and middle managers.

Admit that additional investment will be needed to execute on current plans and grow faster than competition.

Promote from within. There are still a lot of good people left in the organization.

    No love for their employees!

    Data Maintenance Specialist (Former Employee)
    Irving, TX

ProsGood pay. Good people to work with. Excellent benefits. Unique work environment and an opportunity to learn how alarm systems work.

ConsThe management does not listen to their employees. They automatically assume the worst. Too much bad blood between departments, resulting in unnecessary conflict.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employees. Don't automatically assume that they are wrong. Take the time to listen to their issues and if there is something that you caught wrong with the employees, don't automatically think it's their fault regardless if they were the ones working on an account.
