I have been working at Siemens full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great company with lot of opportunities. Friendly staff and lot of room to grow. People are passionate about their work and they stay there for long period of time.

    Cons

Siemens is too big and politically oriented. There is very little diversity at the senior management level. Management structure is too complicated. Lot of unnecessary processes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please improve the cons I mentioned above.

I have been working at Siemens full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

This is a well run organization. It is very hard to get in, in my opinion that gives me more confidence that they don't just hire any guy off the street. I have an unbelievable resume.

    Cons

I wish we had a local website and could feel a little more small townish at times.

I have been working at Siemens full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

A big company, so the usual pluses as far as new technology, etc.

    Cons

Despite the assumption that Germans are technocrats, they aren't. They're just conservative, so they're good at doing what they've always done. This doesn't bode well for changing conditions, or entering a new market like medical software. Like awaking after a week-long bender, Siemens wisely came to their sense and sold off the healthcare business to Cerner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No advice necessary - it's now under new management!

  7. Major learning opportunity but need to be able to work in massive conglomerates with plenty of bureaucracy.

I have been working at Siemens

    Pros

Massive company, plenty of room to grow and move around

    Cons

Easy to be silo'd into one function. They don't really move people between functions. Barely trains their employees (even the professionals in the rotational programs) aside from cross-training a from a coworker.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start investing in training and be aware of what the Millennials are looking for in an employer. If you don't change, you will find you have half your staff retiring in the next 10 years and no one to fill any mid-management positions.

I have been working at Siemens as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Great pay for an intern, Relaxed atmosphere, non-obtrusive management, relaxed dress code, good people.

    Cons

Training left something to be desired; you are left having to learn on the job. It can take a while to get really started here. There are times when "input" is more readily availible than "Answers".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wouldn't change much. Fewer meetings, I guess. In fact, I think the one major issue is that Siemens puts too much on their managers.

I have been working at Siemens as an intern (more than a year)

    Pros

It is a company that wants you to ask questions, look for problems, make suggestions for improvement and best of all, they reward you for it!

    Cons

Siemens is a very large company so a lot of the processes take longer than many companies. But Siemens being so large is also a great Pro.
