    Pros

The company is one of the most technologically advanced companies that I have ever worked for. As far as systems go, they were up to the minute in keeping up with the most efficient ones. I enjoyed working for this group of a large, multi national corporation.

    Cons

Being that it is such a large and, in my opinion, a flat organization, there was little room to see future growth and advancement potential. I don't believe there was a lot of trust in the organization as the top brass retained most of the decision making authority and didn't delegate down to middle management.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Pros

It's a nationally, globally recognized brand name, and the location is very close by. They are open to salary negotiations, and provide a gym in-house.

    Cons

I feel like most of the people I work with are there just to cruise through the day-- tons of red tape, no sense of urgency or prescience anywhere in the organization. Bringing up an idea will almost certainly get you shot down. For example, I suggested a better way of connecting to possible clients, an idea I've seen work successfully at other companies but was missing here. I got a major "poo-poo"ing as a result of my willingness to help out. Thanks, guys.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes to the low-balling that's going on around here. A man (or woman) should be able to conduct business without worrying about submitted ten thousand forms and jumping through hoops.

    Pros

good pay and bright people. YOu will find that people hang in their areas for a long time and become subject matter experts.

    Cons

German model of management. Lots of processes slow down execution of projects. Some of R&D is in Germany and most of the time the direction of a project is controlled by them.

    Advice to Management

Please make the organization more agile, nimble and flexible. Focus on listening to the customer and taking that advice back to R&D.

    Cons

Big political mess in the leadership team

    Advice to Management

stop playing Favorites, its not going to take the company anywhere. I beleive in the vision of the company though the management has to get their act straight.

    Pros

For a software professional, software is its primary business. There is opportunity to work on many different projects, and on many different platforms. Agile development really exists here. The healthcare industry is challenging, and there's no shortage of work that needs to be done. Interaction with customers is both educational and rewarding. The local history of the company is very interesting. If you like a multi-cultural work experience, there are people working here from all over the world. The size of the parent company gives the opportunity to move around and try other jobs. While benefits are shrinking, they are still better than many other companies.

    Cons

Management is short-term focused. They decide to do one thing, then oops, that was wrong. Stop everything. Let's do this instead. Some management is very sleazy and back-handed. People are afraid, and will never speak up.

    Advice to Management

Siemens allows and encourages its management to move on every couple of years, but never holds them accountable for the mess they leave behind.

    Pros

There are benefits working for a divsion of a large company such as a mature and well rounded compensation package. From a day to day perspective there are many tools to use and many key approaches and decisions have established guidlines. Although limited, there are opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

From my experience there is a fairly large disconnect from Sr. management expectation and reality in terms of divsion capability. When this disconenct rears it's head the first response is for everyone to work harder not smarter. Most of the folks in my divsion have little to no faith in the leadership decisions and are concerend over the lack of transparency of Sr management which has a negative impact on the morale and working environment. The compensation is on the low end of the scale.

    Advice to Management

Improve the leadership of everyone in key positions Re-inforce responsibility for decsions Be more transparent and available
