An excellent company with stable business and long term opportunities for career growth. As with any large company, you need to know where you want to go, otherwise you can get lost.

Huge company, giant matrices, can be tough to differentiate oneself in a crowded group. Sometimes difficult to work across business units.

I have been working at Siemens full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Solid benefits
    - Stable (I've never head of a layoff, even from people that have been there for decades)
    - Good work-life balance, no one will breathe down your neck to make you work, that must come from within you.
    - Perfect job for someone in their early 40s with family responsibilities and impending college costs.

    Cons

It is a Very big company, which means:
    - Difficult to know if you are really having an impact.
    - Difficult to stand out and move up. You won't win friends with innovative methods, there is already a triple-reviewed standard workflow that must be followed.
    - If you are young, hungry, and motivated, this is not the best place for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Design decisions should come from the bottom-level people directly, not the mid-level managers.
