I have been working at Siemens full-time

    Pros

    Good work life balance
Easy laid back low stress day to day work
    Good if looking to retire

    Cons

    Less salary
    Not much room for growth

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to be more appreciative of talent in organization. Need to focus on strengths of employees rather than on weaknesses too much.

I have been working at Siemens full-time

    Pros

Stock share and working in doors. Plus it is a huge firm with locations all over the world.

    Cons

Management team changes every year or two. People do the same job for years and the big shots all need to speak German.

I have been working at Siemens full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Worked with many great people. Culture was friendly for the most part.

    Cons

Only a select few actually are capable of doing the work. HR handcuffs management too much and does not allow to make appropriate actions that would benefit the business.

I have been working at Siemens full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The size of the organization and different sectors allow for many opportunities to create and develop a career. Technology and engineering products that touch all aspects of human life- representing a product or service has an impact on society.

    Cons

Very slow- size of the organization and number of people involved makes decisions hard to come by. Lack of accountability and action oriented execution. Poor leadership in some areas- not enough accountability from leadership to individual team members.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know your business, your customers, and your people. Accelerate ownership and freedom to act quickly and independently for high performing employees. Actively hold low performers accountable. Don't let your own processes create burdens and difficulty to be nimble and creative. Invest in better IT technology and solutions to make the company flexible and customer focused.

    Pros

Lots of room to grow, maturing in the industry, good benefits.

    Cons

Pretty siloed, tons of layers, no clear scope of who is doing what.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of all the red tape and bureaucracy.

I have been working at Siemens full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Education and investment in employees. This is a great place to start and learn about Consulting. Employees are talented and passionate about the work.

    Cons

There is a lack of upward mobility and no clear path for promotion. Top performers are not rewarded and can languish, unpromoted for years (even decades)--there is a consistent loss of talent because of this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide a clear path to promotion. Reward top performers with more responsibility, challenges and salary increases.

I have been working at Siemens full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

There is great opportunity if one is willing to work the system and transfer to different locations as needed. Compensation and benefits are generally quite good.

    Cons

The company is a process-heavy behemoth that still exercises a command and control management style.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is little work/life balance for employees and the bottom line is the only thing of any real import. Diversity? At some levels, perhaps, but the governing board is largely male, white and German.
