I have been working at Siemens full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

What I love about working at Siemens is that they are very flexible with the work/life balance. If you have kids, they are very understanding to your commitments to your family. They also are great at promoting within and creating a career path for you.

    Cons

In some departments they are spread too thin and try to do a lot with less.

I have been working at Siemens

    Pros

Excellent pay, Benefits and opportunities for advancement as long as you are young and willing to travel

    Cons

The Union is fractured into several clicks, Most of the older guys are just putting in there time till retirement. Many of the newer employees were not vetted properly and are lacking the skills and maturity needed to thrive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire older mature shop management who have experience with Union employees. Hire a real Labor relations manager who can deal with the constant time wasting distractions from the Union (Greivances). Let Shop management and supervision concentrate on production instead of Union nonsense.

I have been working at Siemens full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Solid benefits
    - Stable (I've never head of a layoff, even from people that have been there for decades)
    - Good work-life balance, no one will breathe down your neck to make you work, that must come from within you.
    - Perfect job for someone in their early 40s with family responsibilities and impending college costs.

    Cons

It is a Very big company, which means:
    - Difficult to know if you are really having an impact.
    - Difficult to stand out and move up. You won't win friends with innovative methods, there is already a triple-reviewed standard workflow that must be followed.
    - If you are young, hungry, and motivated, this is not the best place for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Design decisions should come from the bottom-level people directly, not the mid-level managers.

    No opinion of CEO
